"Final Exam" Game Devlog

It's the weekend again! Took another step towards creating an updated demo! And I'm updating the devlog!

Finally the working build on the new Construct 3 engine is playing with sounds and music, because my hands came to adding sound effects to the game.

I had a bit of trouble because, initially, I chose the wrong methodology. If I had continued adding music and sounds the way I started, I would have had a big problem if I wanted to change any sound effects in the future. I won't go into the technical details of the problem now. The most important thing is that I corrected the situation in time. I had to redo very little code. But now I can change the file of any existing sound without going into the program's core.

So far, I have inserted the same sounds and music that I used in the old version of the game on the IF Action engine. Most likely, the sounds and music will be changed in the final version of the game. If anyone knows a good free AI that creates quality music, please let me know.

After the game sounded, I built the first location. This is not the same first location that was in the old version. That location was created spontaneously. The levels for the new version of the game have already been planned (thanks to my friend Sam Smith), and the location that appears in the fresh build has the same look that will be in the final version of the game.

I have not yet had time to add enemies. But those who have access to the working build of the game, can run through the entire location (it is small), collect coins and break stone blocks.

Now I have to add enemy girls to the level. I already have images of the girls from the old version of the game, but they are all pixelated. I will have to redraw the girls in the same style that the main character is now drawn in. The behaviors of the new enemies will also be rewritten, as the old versions of the behaviors had overly convoluted unoptimized code.

The working build has been updated and is available for active paid subscribers.
