Hi!

Since last weekend I've been sick and feeling really bad, so my work capacity is a bit reduced. Nevertheless, I haven't stopped working on games and size-difference images.

Let me remind that I have two games in work at once, and I don't stop working on both of them. But I don't have anything to show and tell from Size Difference World today, as the main work on this game right now is working on the scenario.

So, today I'm writing within the theme of the Final Exam game.

I feel that the Final Exam game will, after all, be released much sooner than Size Difference World. Final Exam is much simpler, and its level design is almost done.

What I want to do now is to make the working build of the game as similar to the final game as possible. And, therefore, I've now started on the visual design of the game.

The first thing I want to say is that I decided to abandon pixel art. Yes, in the screenshot, so far, the characters are shown pixelated. But this will be fixed soon. The characters, I think, will look the same as in the screenshot. But their lines will be smooth.

The second thing is that during the development phase, I will generate images for the cutscenes using AI. This will make it faster to make a playable beta. So please don't be surprised when you see that the same characters are different in different frames of the cutscenes. In the final version of the game, all images will be redrawn and brought to the same style. After all, I plan to create a commercial product, which will be published, including on Steam. And Steam staff have a very negative attitude towards AI-generated content.

Patrons can access a test build I created to test the look of the new graphics. In this test build, the main menu has been changed and a pause menu has been created. The test build only includes one small location with no enemies. The behavior of the enemies will be changed, so I removed them temporarily.

The old working builds and demos, for now, have not been changed. I will change them when I finish with the visuals and create a new redesigned first level.

My plans for next weekend are to replace the main character sprites, create a new style health bar, and create a score display field. Next will be creating the first level and placing enemies on it. But that will probably be 2 weeks from now.

A test build has been added to the working build folder of the game for patrons on virtual disk to test the visualization and in-game menus work.
