Tech from Texas - Part 2: Midway, DeLorean, Compaq, & NASA

Here's part two of the series, where I travel to Houston.  I hope you enjoy!  I'll be working on a thumbnail and hopefully release to public tomorrow.

Tech from Texas - Part 2: Midway, DeLorean, Compaq, & NASA

Comments

Can't wait for the 3rd installment of the Texas Tech Videos, I'm in the DFW metro too (Allen) and am happy and proud to see how many video game and other tech companies are from the lone star state!

I'm thinking I need a better thumbnail and a more, I hate to say it, click-bait title. I usually avoid that sort of thing, though.

The 8-Bit Guy

That’s unfortunate. I had no idea all the tech I used to own like AST was from Texas. I think we know enough about Silicon Valley history, this series is a breath of fresh air. Hopefully more people find the channel and watch it from their searches.

I loved them too.. unfortunately, the viewership on these has been very low for some reason.

The 8-Bit Guy

I loved these two Texas tech episodes. Great idea and thank you for your time putting this together. Keep them coming!

+1 vote for the private tour at NASA.

Arthur Robillard

This was excellent! I' am loving the series as a whole. I would be all about a video about a private tour of the Houston facility if/when possible.

I remember cycling quite often to the mall just to look at the Compaqs (386); happy days ;)

I wonder if the 8Bit Daughter came along, to facepalm when Dad made that "Midway" joke

Hugo Cardozo

My daughter went with me and did most of the filming where I am on camera. You can see her if you look close in some of the in-car scenes. She didn’t want to be seen so she tried to hide. Sometimes you can see bits of her. I took most of the B-Roll footage myself. She’s still learning. There was a lot of footage I simply couldn’t use because it was too shaky.

I really am enjoying this series. I love the kind of News Magazine like format. I was wondering about a couple of things. I noticed you had a camera person in Houston. Did you bring that camera person with you? Cause they did a great job, I also loved the drone footage, it really helped illustrate some of the descriptions. Great series... hit another one out of the park!

Dinty's Hideaway

Bender - Le Magnifique... (pardon my French) I had to double back for several minutes once I had stopped laughing. "Emmett's Flux Capacitor Pizza Service - We deliver before you order" Now there is a concept! I think DMC should team up with Tesla for an EV version of the new DeLorean. ... call it the "Tesla DeLorean 1.21GW" Brilliant Video! - really enjoyed it - thanks David.

Carsten Lervad

Great video, well done! Lots of good humour, the drone footage is the cherry on the cake! And for the NASA video: definitely cool, I would go for it, getting the private tour!

MrHammond

In the intro sequence in the car it's the PC version, later it's the correct one. 😊

Just curious, what is wrong with it? I took a few seconds of footage from a YouTube video that was reviewing Doom64, so I assumed it would be right.

The 8-Bit Guy

Great video, just a nitpick but you will probably get some comments that the Doom 64 footage is incorrect.

If you're interested, I did a history of DeLorean which includes the work they're doing in Texas: https://youtu.be/BqRI1INxXzc
