Update on grim situation this week.

Hey guys.  I don't have time to do a video or audio segment, but I wanted to give everyone an update on what is going on.  Some people may have noticed my web store is shut down with a notice about a family emergency.  So, I'm going to give you a run down of the current crisis.  This is not a plea for help, nor is this a plea for more money.  We're doing fine in that regard.   This is just information to you guys since you are my biggest fans and supporters!

The problem is two fold.  The first problem is that my wife broke a ligament in her knee several weeks ago. She has had to walk with crutches and has had a hard time getting around.  She had to go on disability from work and I have had to pick up a lot of her chores and do a lot of extra things for her.  This was taking cumulatively maybe 2-3 hours of my day to care for her.  But I was still able to get work done during that time.

July 3rd.... She had knee surgery.   We sort of knew this was going to happen.  She has to wear this brace on her leg for 2 weeks.  This has made her almost completely immobile. Plus the first two days she was very sick from the procedure and in a lot of pain. She requires help  doing even the most mundane of things such as going to the bathroom.  I have to serve food for her, ice her knee 6 times a day, and generally see to her every need.  The amount of time went from 3 hours a day to more like 6 hours a day helping her with stuff.  Not a huge deal, I could still get work done in the meantime and it's only for 2 weeks until the brace comes off.  After which, she should be able to start walking some on her own.

July 4th... My dad had a heart attack and went to the hospital.  He was told he needed triple bypass surgery to correct the blockages.  My dad was already suffering from early stages of dementia and when combined with the drugs they were giving him, he kept waking up and not understanding where he was or why he was there.  As such, he would try to disconnect himself from everything like when Neo wakes up from being in the Matrix.  So, somebody had to stay with him 24 hours a day.  This has been divided up mainly between my mom, myself, and my brother.   As such, I've been dividing my time between going home to help my wife, and going back to the hospital to keep an eye on my dad.  I haven't been getting much sleep the last few days.

Today.... My dad had the surgery this morning and they said everything went well, and he is in the ICU right now.  They said he won't really be awake until tomorrow and they have him under constant supervision.  So we all get a break at least for today.  I imagine he'll probably be going home from the hospital around the same time my wife gets her leg-brace off.  So, needless to say, the next week is going to be tough.  But hopefully things will improve soon when my wife can start to walk again and when my Dad is no longer on any mind-altering drugs.  

Anyway, all video projects are on hold.  And my web store is closed down.  Hopefully things will be back to normal in a week or two.  Thank you for your understanding.  Also, if I don't respond to emails in a timely manner like usual, this is also why.  I've been replying to a lot of emails with a form letter explaining I'm having a family emergency and try emailing me again in a few weeks.
