Commodore History Part 2 - The Vic-20

I've been working on this video for 2 weeks.  That's not surprising considering it is almost 30 minutes long.   I hope you enjoy.  It will go live to the rest of the world tomorrow when I'm done with the closed captions and new thumbnail.

My C64 still has it's place in my living and it's still connected to my projector, still play games like Doughboy, Henrys House and Burger time etc

Your videos make me want to go search the basement and FIND MY COMMODORE 64

Yes, I'm planning the following episodes: Commodore PET Commodore VIC-20 Commodore 64 (along with SX-64, Educator64, Max, etc) Commodore 116, 16, and Plus/4 Commodore 128 and 128D Amiga 1000, 500, and 2000. Commodore disk drives

David, a few years ago I stumbled across a Commodore Plus 4. I had never heard of that machine before, and I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I gave it away. Are you going to spend any time in this series on that machine? I'd love to know more about it.

Andy Goergen

Great episode. But PET and VIC-20 are just footnotes, cannot wait for the main event -- the legendary and unbeatable Commodore 64!

Great work as always! It's good to know Commodore's computer history, and part 3 will certainly be a must-watch.

Geforcefly

Great Video! I also learned to program from the Vic 20 Manual! So many memories seeing those pages :D

Ah, looking at the Wikipedia article now (it's pretty interesting, if you haven't read it yet). Guess you didn't misspell it after all. Thoroughly enjoying your video as always, BTW!

Actually, I've had to respond to this quite a bit today. Kernal is the correct spelling for Commodore machines.

The 8-Bit Guy

Hey David, I noticed you misspelled "kernel" in the beginning. I didn't have time to view this video before you posted it, or I would have commented then. Well next time at least you'll be able to spell it right anyway! :) Please keep up the great work! I am a big fan of your videos.

I saved this video for friday night. Thanks for making this great video. I can tell you really thought of what to tell. I started with a PC, and always wondered about home computer. A PC was more expensive, so it should be better, right? Thanks for catching up ;-)

Excellent video as always, David! Since the next one will be about the 64, can we also hope for a dedicated 128 episode after that? It is an unusual machine in its own right.
