Video testing and delays.

I just kinda now realized it's the last day of the month... the page will still take a few days. Whoops.

This rest is unrelated to the delay I'm just venting a bit.

I've been trying to make timelapse videos of the creation process of the comic. Here's a little test video I managed to record.

I ran into massive problems trying to render video though...

After multiple different programs and approaches, and hours of troubleshooting... I've come to the conclusion that I would need to reinstall windows to be able to produce a longer video. There's something very wrong with my windows install.

Any attempt at using video encoders either result in the program crashing, blue screens or just a hard system freeze. It's absolutely bizarre. Also while trying to track down ways to fix this I found out my windows update was barely functional and after getting it to actually function again, it's still spitting out errors at me at random. Basically everything is broken in someway and I cant figure out how to fix it. I'm not really in the mood for a clean system wipe right now so I'll postpone that to later... though it's really overdue anyways. But a full timelapse video of a complete blastwave page creation will have to wait. I'm still recording it all though... since that still works.

Anyways just... I fucking hate computers, man.

I'll post those publicly when I make more extra pages. I'm thinking of redrawing one of the 250k black and white ones eventually. But the idea is to just have a normal comics monthly now. (I know I'm a bit late with februarys comic) oh and green comics, aside from holiday ones, will stay here.

Hey, Kimmo. Since you've decided it's fine to post old patreon-only pages to public, how about you post the old b/w 250K ones? The insane A.I. welcoming to its lair, the scouting program reporting hostiles in 150m-wait-that's-150km. I think they're pretty good and a cheap way for you to keep the momentum publically. (Also there's a bunch of old green comics that can be posted publically, but I don't remember what you decided about those. Also, the legends one with the demon was from july 2017, it's time for it to go public too, I believe)

I tried so many things man... I ran a bunch of diagnostic stuff. I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware problem. Any test I throw at it comes out fine. CPU, GPU, RAM, hard drives... Found so many things wrong with my windows install that I'm convinced that's the thing. Can't figure out ways to fix it though, other than a clean install. I'll attempt that at a later date.

Also: great art. I love your works! ;)

Hey Kimmo, you might wanna check your RAM. I work in video and film and got lot to do with encodings. Most often it‘s corrupt RAM while encoding that causes bluescreens. There are some freeware usb-boot installations that allow you to diagnose the full ram, when booting from an usb-stick i.e. They also allow you to fully inspect your harddrive capabilities, without windows holding some memory or harddrive space under hostage (means the diagnosis can‘t access it). Might give it a shot. Swapping Ram goes faster than setting up your machine from scratch ;)
