The kicker wasn’t in his head on that last kick, the gangsters were forcing him to throw the game. The actor that played deaf Brian Murphy was David Denman, Roy from the Office.
I’m so glad you liked this. I feel it’s underrated in the reactor world.

Great reaction! That was a fun time.
For another film with lots of eggs being eaten, check out Cool Hand Luke (1967)

Would you like to hear about some great attention to detail in this movie?
The deaf player, was said to come from a University in Washington called Gallaudet. The University was founded for deaf students.
They do have a football team.
Every time I hear, “Every Move You Make” I instantly think of this movie and I’m sure that you will too!
I love how quickly you picked up on the line, (At first, I admit, I was afraid)….
I Will Survive + The Electric Slide = Perfection!!
ADD-E: Hmm. I thought you were talking about actual quicksand.
Please include that in your YT edit!

Yeah, I'm probably 6.5 or 7 out of 10 on this one, I'm not as into it as much as Addie but I also think 41% on Rotten Tomatoes is kind of low. It's not a top movie for me, it felt like it kind of dragged a bit sometimes and the plot seemed a little by the numbers, but it's got fun moments and a good cast to lighten the load.
As an aside, I double checked football ratings with the best Rotten Tomatoes ratings and it looks like Jerry Maguire is one of the top entries at 85%. (It's #4 after Undefeated, Big Fan, and Go Tigers!) I know Jerry Maguire was also on the Valentine's Day poll this month, so now I have even more reason to root for it doing well hopefully! 😄
And on another note if you're looking for another good sports movie with Gene Hackman as a coach, Addie, add Hoosiers (1986) to your list, it's a good one (it even often shows up in lists of the "best sports movies of all time")! 👍

Thanks to Lester the Molester Hayes, who ended up posting the same stats for the second half of his career after it was outlawed anyway. Also, Jerry Rice admitted after retirement that he cheated with stickum from time to time, meanwhile Tim Brown was out there playing without gloves, so the science clearly proves TB was the better receiver

Regarding the substance on Franklin's hands when he catches the ball - it's definitely against the rules.
