I prefer the original. This wasn't bad, but I don't feel like it added anything to it. It's 30 minutes longer so it's slower paced than the original. And I don't think it was visually as interesting. All the colors get desaturated for the sake of "realism."

2025-08-03 16:43:46 +0000 UTCI thought they did a pretty decent job, but at the end of the day I don't think this was as good as the animated movie and I feel it didn't really add anything substantive to the HTTYD universe. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it, and I'll watch the others as they are released... but if I ever get the itch to watch the first movie again, it won't be the live-action version I go for.
