JUNE Q&A!

My thoughts exactly!

Fun Q&A as always. 🙂 - Hmm, I think if I was going to pick one Disney/Pixar movie for a rewatch it would be Up. 🎈 Such an amazing animated film and also a great one for reactions in general. - I know I mentioned it before but my suggestion for an animated Batman movie is The Dark Knight Returns, it’s fantastic! 👍 And for Superman I’d go with Superman: Red Son, it has one of the more interesting premises for an “alternative history” Superman film. (And just generally speaking the animated DC films are overall pretty good!) - I don’t go to the theater as much nowadays but I do go for the big Marvel movies, it’s just fun seeing them on a huge 3D screen with surround sound. 😄 Outside of superhero films, 1917 is the big one that comes to mind that I’m glad I saw in the theater originally, it’s just fantastic to watch on the big screen! - Regarding old Charlie Chaplin silent films, there’s just as much to react to in them as films with sound. Dialog still appears on title cards and you can tell from what’s happening in the scene what the characters are thinking or motivated by and so on. So you had just as many “oohs and aahs” or “No! don’t do that” moments as you would watching a film with sound. So while there might be other technical considerations (e.g. the entire silent film will have a loud musical soundtrack playing, which if the film is somehow still under copyright might be a problem) I don’t think you’d have to worry about not having much to react to. - If you do another Mel Brooks film my suggestion is definitely the original The Producers, it’s great! 👍 And it has maybe the most famous musical number of any Mel Brooks movie ever made. 😄

Never heard of the movie but anything with Emma Thompson in it can't be too bad.

Hi Addie, 'Return of Living Dead (1985)' is one of the most influential zombie films of time, but yes, it is a horror comedy. Yes, it is a pseudo-sequel to George Romero's hit film 'Night of the Living Dead' from 1968, there was a rights issue between Romero and his longtime producing partner. Both Night and Return are often hailed as classics.

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 Thanks for another great monthly Q&A for this month. And I'm looking forward to watching "Stranger Than Fiction" for the monthly 'Spinning Wheel' pick. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊
