DUNKIRK - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Dunkirk! This movie is so well done, and I already can't wait to watch it again to piece together the timelines a little more! Enjoy!

DUNKIRK - Full Length Reaction!

I know I’m a little late on this but Mark Rylance’s character (the captain of the Moonstone) was inspired by Charles Lightoller, who was the second officer on the RMS Titanic. When the Titanic was sinking he was trapped below decks and nearly drowned, but just before he lost consciousness an explosion blew him out of the ship and he was able to swim to the surface and be rescued by a lifeboat. Thirty years later at Dunkirk he took his personal boat and rescued 127 British servicemen. I don’t like to tell people what to believe when it comes to religion but if that isn’t a case of divine intervention then I don’t know what is.

She hasn't seen "Memento," either. Either that or "Tenet" will likely be her next Nolan reaction. While it's been ages since I've seen it, I think his debut, "Following," also plays a bit with time, but I can't remember for sure. And "Insomnia" doesn't play with time at all, but no one reacts to it, for whatever reason. 🤷‍♂️

Very good movie. 👍 Honestly I don't think there's a Christopher Nolan directed movie I haven't like, he's terrific. And like a bunch of other Nolan films he really loves messing around with how the narrative flow of time is handled: - Dunkirk: Three stories told at different rates that end at the same point - Memento: Tells the story in reverse order - Interstellar and Inception: Both mess around with slowing the passage of time depending on the frame of reference. - Oppenheimer: Tells Oppenheimer's story by hopping around back and forth between past and later events in his life. - Tenet: The story is told as a palindrome in time. P.S. And looking over that list I think Tenet is the only one Addie hasn't seen yet. Hopefully she'll get around to it some time, it's pretty good (if you can follow what's going on! 😄 )
