Yeah, I thought about that too, but I guess it's one of those "artistic license" things where a minor plot hole is allowed for the sake of telling the story or developing a character.

2025-05-22 16:22:28 +0000 UTCOn a tangent I was thinking the scene where Eugene wants to talk to her wife kind of bugs me a little because they had radios, even if Joel didn't think they could get back in time they could have probably pretty easily just gotten his wife on the radio to say their goodbyes. Yeah, he doesn't get to actually see her, but he at least gets to speak with her and there's literally no risk to giving him the radio assuming it doesn't take an hour or whatever. It's just one of those pesky scenes where there was probably an easy solution but the characters just ignored it for no reason.
