GRAN TORINO - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Gran Torino! I'm so glad that I didn't know anything about this movie going into it. I was not prepared for the ending at all! Enjoy!

GRAN TORINO - Full Length Reaction!

Comments

I've seen this movies so many times and I always tear up at the end

Michael Short

It was the first time I had actually seen him cry onscreen (when he's sitting in his chair, after his fit of anger, you can see a tear running down his right cheek).

Miles E Coburn

I saw this movie a long time ago. I was happy to re-discover it with you Addie. Cheers!

Guillaume Huet

I think this ending does not get spoiled because people who talk about the movie are more intrigued by talking about Walts character and his interaction with everyone.

It was a surprising ending, but I knew what he was figuring on dying when he got the suit. He was buying a suit to be buried in. :( As many times as I have seen this, I still cry at the end. And I often find myself humming the song at the end. Such a great piece of movie history.

Such a great movie. It's been a while since I saw this one, but that ending is hard to forget.

Doug

Of COURSE his daughter-in-law's name is Karen.

Brent Petty

Yes, the gang sent him in alone to steal the car. It was his initiation.

I’m not ashamed to admit this movie made me cry. At the time it was said to be Clint Eastwood’s final acting role and it got me feeling sad and nostalgic. But he’s since acted in a few more things so now I feel stupid for crying πŸ˜‚

Here's one you may appreciate... Geraldine Hughes, who played Karen, also played a grown-up "little Marie" in Rocky Balboa.

Luis Fernandez

Here's an Adventure!!! "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins" (1985).

Randolph Tirazona

The last movie that is both directed and stars Clint Eastwood that stands above all others is "Million Dollar Baby" It's kind of like Rocky in that it's about boxing. You will love it. Would love to see this reacted for the channel!

Glad you're feeling better, Addie! My mental image of Clint Eastwood is typically a Dirty Harry-type character: tough as nails, take no crap, demolish the bad guy. But the character arc in this story really surprised me β€” and many critics, too!

Phil Stubblefield

At the time, Eastwood claimed this would be his last acting role. That turned out to not be the case, though; he would appear in 3 more films (as well as an uncredited cameo in "American Sniper"). Now 94, his last directorial effort - "Juror No. 2" - wrapped earlier this year, though its release date has not yet been determined. Most of the actors in this film were amateurs at the time; John Carroll Lynch as the barber (who also played Marge's husband in "Fargo") was the only other one I recognized. Eastwood's own son, Scott, also played the kid hitting on Sue before being confronted by the 3 black guys.

Happy Wednesday, Addie. Gran Torino (2008) finally completes your Clint Eastwood trifecta after Unforgiven (1992) & Dirty Harry (1971). Now I DEFINITELY need to watch all three of them, soon.

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 I hope that you're feeling better, and that your seasonal allergies are starting to clear up. I've mainly seen bits and pieces of this movie. So, it'll be a first time watch for me as well. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊
