He was buying a suit to be buried in. :( As many times as I have seen this, I still cry at the end. And I often find myself humming the song at the end. Such a great piece of movie history.

2024-09-04 16:43:43 +0000 UTCGlad you're feeling better, Addie! My mental image of Clint Eastwood is typically a Dirty Harry-type character: tough as nails, take no crap, demolish the bad guy. But the character arc in this story really surprised me β and many critics, too!

That turned out to not be the case, though; he would appear in 3 more films (as well as an uncredited cameo in "American Sniper"). Now 94, his last directorial effort - "Juror No. 2" - wrapped earlier this year, though its release date has not yet been determined. Most of the actors in this film were amateurs at the time; John Carroll Lynch as the barber (who also played Marge's husband in "Fargo") was the only other one I recognized. Eastwood's own son, Scott, also played the kid hitting on Sue before being confronted by the 3 black guys.
