POOR THINGS - Full Length Reaction!

Patreon Exclusive! Here's the full length reaction to Poor Things, the movie that won this month's wheel! I had started the first 20ish minutes of this movie a few months ago, and I'm so glad that I finally sat down to finish it! Enjoy!

POOR THINGS - Full Length Reaction!

Definitely a unique film! The cinematography in particular is amazing. The way everything is shot tells the story as it goes, and even the skies are roiling abstract paintings. I really liked the oddly dissonant soundtrack as well. And of course the acting is terrific. One small thing I really liked about Stone's performance is how you can tell her evolution by her posture and how she walks. In the beginning she's walking like a baby then toddler, and at the end she's walking like a normal adult. I'd give it probably 8.5 - 9/10 stars, mainly because the story feels maybe just a little too weird and abstract at times. But it's still fun seeing Bella furiously jump headlong into her adventures, and we get to experience all the strange sounds and colors and sights with her along the way. πŸ™‚

I've not been a big Lanthimos fan and this movie doesn't really do much to bring me around to his side. I do, however, very much enjoy the visuals in this one so I'll give him praise for that.

You don't have to hit 20k views. it's just arbitrary. There is no rules for how many views a reactor has to make. Addie should just focus on her channel and her goals, not compare and yes, a lot of channels have dropped viewership. It's easy to pull up statistics, it's not like I'm pulling this out my ass lol. Views have dropped across the board since 2021 by a huge margin. Also viewership per video rises over time too. Either way addie is doing just fine. She isn't going to stop with MI just because the videos arnt hitting some arbitrary view number in a certain time.

As far as I can tell, most major reactors haven't lost all that many views; most of them still surpass 20K views within the first day or two of their being up -- not so with Addie and her reactions to these movies.

Speaking of Emma Stone, I also suggest Gangster Squad (2013). #GangsterSquadForAddieCounts Speaking of Mark Ruffalo, I also suggest Windtalkers (2002) with Nicolas Cage. #WindtalkersForAddieCounts And speaking of Willem Dafoe, I also suggest Born on the Fourth of July (1989) & Clear and Present Danger (1994, but watch Patriot Games (1992) first). #MoreWillemDafoeForAddieCounts

I'd recommend Emma Stone's previous collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos, "The Favourite." For more Mark Ruffalo, I'd recommend "You Can Count on Me" and "Spotlight." For more Willem Dafoe, I'd recommend "The Last Temptation of Christ," "Mississippi Burning" and his numerous collaborations with Wes Anderson, particularly "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," "Fantastic Mr. Fox," and "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

Addie would tell the community if she stopped. She said the movies will take a couple months to get through with all that she has planned to watch

It's definitely incredibly awkward to watch a movie/TV show with someone else that has as much strong sexual content as this... or maybe it's just my upbringing as a late Gen X'er; I keep hearing that sexual things aren't as big of a deal with younger people. πŸ€”

I see. I was just wondering since its been 2 weeks since MI4. I got used to it dropping every monday so when it stopped i thought maybe she dropped the franchise which would be a shame since 5 and 6 are elite.

@Byrd Reaction channels across the board are lower on viewership. Plus at the end of the day, I'd rather addie focus on her enjoyment rather than viewership. She has her patreon members helping her more financially than youtube ever could, views will always fluctuate. Dont be worried or have issues with what she watches on her behalf. If she thought it was a big issue she would do something about it. All good mate. She should always focus on what she and the communtiy want to watch and not be to big a stickler about viewership at this point in her career, she is always growing and will be good well beyond 100k subscribers.

While I thoroughly enjoy this film, I can understand your reluctance to also put it over on YouTube. Here's hoping most future wheel winners won't be this niche that you won't want to also put them on YT. The fewer Patreon exclusives you have, the better, IMO (being able to see the full reactions should be incentive enough, as far as I'm concerned).

She's had "Rogue Nation" listed on her Letterboxd for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if it's her Friday release. I have no doubt she'll finish (or catch up to, at any rate) the franchise, but my main issue with her watching them - along with all of these "Planet of the Apes" prequels - is that they're not performing all that well on YouTube. πŸ€”

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 I'm glad that you're watching this movie, because it's one that I've been looking forward to seeing, but haven't gotten around to yet. I've heard that Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, and Willem Dafoe are all fantastic in this. For more Emma Stone, I very highly recommend the 2010 "Easy A" if you haven't seen it yet. For more Mark Ruffalo, I very highly recommend the 2013 "Now You See Me" and the 2016 sequel "Now You See Me 2". And for more Willem Dafoe(who has so many great films) one that I recommend is the 1986 "Platoon". Looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm glad that you were able to watch Poor Things (2023), after starting it a few months earlier. However, if this was a movie that you feel like you don't need to rewatch then this is one that I don't care anything about, period. My girlfriend & I did watch the trailer for this movie in theaters, before A Haunting in Venice (2023) in IMAX, and we didn't like it at all due to the weird and artsy vibe it had.

Woah! Never expected this one πŸ˜‚
