Tarantino Poll!

It's been about a year since I've watched a Tarantino movie! Help me choose a movie to watch next! I've already watched Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds on the channel, and I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood when it came out. I'm also using this poll to see which of his movies you're interested in seeing me react to, so even if a movie doesn't win, I may still react to some of these in the future (spread out of course, I can't handle too much Tarantino back to back haha). Happy voting!

Comments

If she can watch both Inglorious Basterds (2009) & Pulp Fiction (1994), last year, then she can watch Kill Bill (2003-2004) & Django Unchained (2012) this year.

Alex Tan

New mission: get "Django Unchained" within striking distance of "Kill Bill" so that she definitely watches that one as well. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Byrd N. Hand

I think Cinebinge did a reaction to it too.

BlakeK80DrumCovers

Don't worry, I fully expect the next 20 films I vote for to be at the bottom of the polls.

Richard Maurer

Happy to see a new QT poll! I was thinking of suggesting you do a QT-the-actor poll, but really I would end up recommending a bunch of Robert Rodriguez movies and a Takashi Miike movie. So instead I'll suggest you do a Robert Rodriguez poll, then hopefully at some point a Takashi Miike poll.

Luis Fernandez

Kill Bill is the best reaction movie but Jackie Brown is the best Tarantino movie. I donโ€™t care though, Iโ€™d watch any of these immediately if Addie released the video.

Jacob King

A few reactors have (TBR Schmitt and Dawn Marie come to mind), but, no, not nearly enough.

Byrd N. Hand

If you're set on going through Tarantino's catalog over time, it would be great to go in order of release. That way you can experience his progression as a filmmaker like most of us that have enjoyed his films over the years.

Jorge Lopez

Don't let it go to your head...๐Ÿ˜

Speaking of Tony Scott, who directed True Romance (1993), Top Gun (1986) and Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), I also suggest The Hunger (1987, for Halloween), Revenge (1990), Days of Thunder (1990), The Last Boy Scout (1991), Crimson Tide (1995), The Fan (1996), Enemy of the State (1998), Spy Game (2001), Man on Fire (2004), Domino (2005), Deja Vu (2006), The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009) & Unstoppable (2010). #MoreTonyScottForAddieCounts

Nah Jackie Brown is another masterclass Tarantino flick in my opinion. Definitely under appreciated. The comedic dialogue particularly from Samuel L Jackson is excellent but i understand its not for everyone. I personally think Once upon a time in Hollywood is mediocre. Ive only watched it once though so maybe a second viewing will improve my opinion.

SavageDiplomat

Was thinking same thing lol oh well. They all worth a watch from the foot man himself. Jackie Brown kinda forgettable imo though

Spawncalibur

I would like to add an honorable mention: True Romance. Though he did not direct it, he did write it and itโ€™s very much a Tarantino movie as much as the others IMO

Julian San

QT is my personal inspiration as a writer/director but younger me loves the bombastic bloody blustering version of him I think Kill Bill is going into the deep end of the pool. He's also I big call back person so certain frames or shots won't hit the same if she hasn't seen his previous work.

Zachary

It has to be Kill Bill, for sure.

Andre Agog

Yeah. The "safe" stuff, as in something light-hearted, upbeat and wholesome, really defines her film preferences. It's no wonder why she prefers Barbie (2023) over Oppenheimer (2023), as exemplified in her latest Q&A. But I agree with you here, seeing Addie stepping out of her comfort zone, by watching darker & edgier movies that are very intense, will help her and her channel evolve. That's also why I've been suggesting the Christopher Nolan movies Dunkirk (2017) and Tenet (2020) to her, ever since she watched The Dark Knight (2008). However, she just finished recording her reaction to Black Hawk Down (2001), which (hopefully) drops tomorrow. #MoreIntenseMoviesForAddieCounts

Alex Tan

Finally something I voted for is actually winning

Richard Maurer

Oh, you make this sooooo hard. As a hardcore Tarantino fan, I want to pick Kill Bill because you get the twofer, but as an obnoxious Tarantino purest, I had to vote for Reservoir Dogs. All his movies need to be watched and cherished. Jackie Brown is underrated, so I hope we'll check all of these and more off the Tarantino list at some point. Even his contribution to the Anthology Film Four Rooms, which was taken right out of one of Roald Dahl's short stories. Absolute genius stuff!

Raj Hudek

Kill Bill pts 1 and 2 are my favorite of his. On a tangent, note that Death Proof is actually part of his โ€œdouble featureโ€ movie Grindhouse. While Death Proof is ok, the best part of Grindhouse is honestly the fake movie trailers in the beginning. In particular the fake trailers for Machete and Donโ€™t are pretty funny. ๐Ÿ˜„ (And the Machete trailer was so popular they actually made the full movie a few years later.)

Doug

Agreed! I know we're the dissenting voices, but his brand of ultra-violence is definitely not my thing. When my (adult) son asked me to watch The Hateful Eight (2015), I remember enjoying most of the film to the extent that I would have rated it an 8 or 9 out of 10... until the over-the-top blood and vomit at the end completely killed it for me. (No pun intended...)

Phil Stubblefield

I knew as soon as I saw the options Kill Bill was going to win, and as great a movie as that is, my absolute favorite is Jackie Brown. IMO while itโ€™s not the most โ€œTarantinoโ€ of his movies, the quieter more contemplative tone and mind blowing but at times subtle acting make it the best of his movies.

Simone's Coconut Squire

Django unchained is my fav

Thats MR. Baldamort

Tarantno' best movie is Jackie Brown, yet nobody ever reacts to it ๐Ÿ˜’

BlakeK80DrumCovers

Ahh... donno...

Randolph Tirazona

Yes, it would be nice to see Addie step outside of her comfort zone a bit more often. She's done predominantly safe movies/TV shows for much of the year so far. I wouldn't mind seeing her do at least one darker/heavier/edgier/more intense/etc. movie every month (I know we'll be getting a few horror films from her in October).

Byrd N. Hand

Kind of an unfair poll when you get 2 films for the price of one with Kill Bill ๐Ÿ˜‚

SavageDiplomat

Yes, all of them eventually.

Byrd N. Hand

As much as i'd love to vote for Death Proof it has to be his masterpeice Kill Bill, Death Proof sadly wouldnt win this poll anyway, i know if KB wasnt here it would go to Django or Reservior Dogs.

Jasbro

Not really a Tarantino fan ๐Ÿ˜’

carbsix

I think that, in general, QT's movies aren't Addie's usual cup of tea, given that she's a musical theater actress who likes more light-hearted movies, but it'll be a lot of fun to us if she ever watched QT movies back to back.

Alex Tan

Happy Thursday, Addie! ๐Ÿ˜Š "Reservoir Dogs" got my vote for this one, with "Jackie Brown" as a close second. Both movies have a great cast. Have a great rest of the day today! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Randee Carreno

"Kill Bill" is the only one I'm hesitant to vote for because I'm still holding out hope that Tarantino will finally make his single nearly-four-hour cut of the film commercially available one of these days. ๐Ÿ™

Byrd N. Hand

Oops, my bad!

George Stapp

She did watch OUATIH when it first came out, but I would love to see a rewatch reaction of the movie. #OnceUponATimeInHollywoodRewatchReactionForAddieCounts

Alex Tan

Read her blurb; she saw it when it first came out. I wouldn't mind an eventual re-watch of it from her once she's seen everything else, though.

Byrd N. Hand

Read the heading of the poll. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Mr. Writhms

Happy Thursday, Addie. All are great choices but my votes go for Reservoir Dogs (1992) & Kill Bill (2003-2004). #MoreQuentinTarantinoForAddieCounts

Alex Tan

Kill Bill is going to win the poll because it's the most popular film. But I know you're an actress what I suggest is to watch all his films in chronological order to fully get the growth of him as a director. Some films many not be your cup of tea but it's a great lesson in filmmaking.

Zachary

Wow this is a tough one. I went with Django. But I think you should do reservoir dogs and kill bill in the future

KingGoji94

One more should have made the listโ€ฆ Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

George Stapp

all of them please :)
