BLAZING SADDLES - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Blazing Saddles! This one is so good!! Mel Brooks does NOT hold back! I've only seen Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka until this movie, so it was fun to see him in a different role.

Since there are a lot of Mel Brooks fans here, my plan is to watch Spaceballs soon and save Young Frankenstein for October as a fun break from some horror movies! Enjoy!

Aaaaayyyyyyyyy, what a movie! Glad to see you Got the Joke. My favorite bit of behind-the-scenes trivia for this movie is about the theme song. It's sung by Frankie Laine, who was THE iconic singer/songwriter for Western theme songs and soundtracks. He did some of the most famous ones in history. So when Mel Brooks wrote this parody, he said he wanted somebody LIKE Frankie Laine to sing the song, since he never in a million years imagined that he could ever get the real thing. It would have been like expecting Francis Ford Coppola to come on-set to direct the "The Godfather" parody scene in "Men in Tights". But Frankie Laine actually came aboard and sang the title. Some people say he never realized that it was a parody and that Mel Brooks never had the heart to tell him.

I forgot how intentionally bad Madeline Kahn sings in this, too funny. πŸ˜„ That and for some reason the line β€œWe gotta go back and get a shitload of dimes!” always cracks me up. What a fun movie.

YEE-HAW! Happy Friday, Addie. Your Mel Brooks double feature kicks off with some Blazing Saddles (1974). I myself plan on watching that movie & Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993) as a double feature this weekend. See you soon for some Spaceballs (1987) in June and for Young Frankenstein (1974) in October. The latter movie is definitely gonna be a good palette cleanse after some frightening horror movies for Halloween.
