DUNE: PART 2 - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Dune: Part 2! I couldn't wait any longer to watch this movie haha. I still might try to go see it while it's still in theaters! This movie was EPIC! I could go on and on about how good this was, and I already can't wait for Part 3 (although I imagine I'll be waiting a whileeee). Enjoy!

Hi Addie. Just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan. You're my favorite reactor. I also wanted to make some suggestions. I'll try to keep it brief. These suggestions are movies I feel are vastly underrated and I'm quite sure that all or most of them haven't been reacted to by any other reactors. The Burbs (Tom Hanks; comedy) Stir of Echoes (Kevin Bacon; supernatural, creepy) Signs (Mel Gibson; sci-fi, horror) Breakdown (Kurt Russell; action, thriller) The Edge (Anthony Hopkins; adventure, thriller) Nightcrawler (Jake Gyllenhaal; crime, thriller) 3:10 To Yuma (Christian Bale, Russel Crowe; western) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Johnny Depp; comedy) Role Models (Paul Rudd; comedy) Carlito's Way (Al Pacino; crime, thriller) Freeway (Reese Witherspoon; crime, thriller) Fallen (Denzel Washington; crime, thriller) Beerfest (Broken Lizard; comedy) Supertroopers (Broken Lizard; comedy) The Usual Suspects (Gabriel Byrne; crime, thriller) Girl, Interrupted (Winona Ryder; drama) Closer (Natalie Portman, Jude Law; drama, romance) Sphere (Dustin Hoffman; sci-fi, thriller, trippy) Flatliners (Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts; sci-fi, thriller) And last but not least, Lonesome Dove. It's a four part mini-series starring Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Diane Lane and so many others. It is my absolute favorite western. I love it so much and I think you will too. I hope you consider my picks. They are much slept on gems and will make great content for your channel.

That is absolutely true. That event was called the Butlerian Jihad where all computers, thinking machines and all conscious robots were destroyed. They were replaced by Mentats who were humans trained to mimic the analytical abilities of computers. In Dune Part 1 Thufir Hawat who was Leto Atreides' head of security was a mentat.

This movie has now easily buried the original movie in the sandbox. Pun intended. By the time this movie is completed it will make cinematic history.

Thank you, I appreciate the sacrifice to not see this in theaters, at least initially, in order to provide us with your first reaction. This is a case where I don't attempt to pick the better movie as they are both one story based on the original novel Dune. Now part 3 (4?) would be separate as that should be based on the second novel in the series. I have not read the novels but I recall reading, and this may not be true, but at some point in the Dune universe computer AI threatened everyone and all computers were destroyed hence why there are no actual computers in this movie. It might be fun to watch Dune 1984, not really a good movie but worth the watch because it is so damn weird.

Denis has done a masterful job bringing this to the screen. People will always complain about adaptations not being faithful. Yes there are differences from the book. Some of them quite large. But, the major themes are there and done extremely well for the visual medium. Not to mention it's just absolutely beautiful visually and audibly. I can't believe I ever doubted Timothee Chalamet as Paul or Zendaya as Chani. Both were amazing. You're right. At the end of this movie it is hard to root for Paul. It's supposed to be. He may be the "chosen one," but he's not a hero. He did try to fight it for a long time, but he has now succumbed to using the superstition to gain control and to further his own ends. There were unselfish motives as well, but he had to get revenge. And in doing so, triggered the holy war. Great reaction! Can't wait for Part 3 or Messiah if they call it that!

The scene of Paul riding the worm for the first time alone is worth the price of a movie ticket, and it's not the only part that is incredible in theater.

I couldn't wait any longer haha

Thanks, Addie! Your promise came true sooner than I expected! 😁

You won't have to wait as long for part 3. The biggest reason it took so long for part 2 was two things: Covid and the Writers strike. So far it's full steam ahead for part 3, there will be a potential announcement for the releases date soon. With speculation as early as later 2025 early 2026.

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 I ended up seeing this once in the theater, and loved it! So excited to watch it again along with you later this evening. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

Since you said there was a glitch earlier this week in Patreon's scheduling, will we be getting a usual third full reaction for the week tomorrow? Or will we just have to wait and see?

IMAX trailer comparison. In most IMAX theaters, the aspect ratio opens up to 1.90:1 throughout the entire movie. https://youtu.be/U3tW1UFfqOA?feature=shared In some IMAX theaters, this is how the picture looked for some scenes. https://images.app.goo.gl/1juYmLqUHrM7kMRV7 EDIT: Here are two articles about the cameras and lenses used to shoot the movie. Well, well... Look who had to wait for a sequel just like the rest of us. 😝

Happy Friday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Dune: Part Two (2024). This is currently my favorite movie of the year, so far. I saw it in IMAX 1.90:1 THREE times. First with my girlfriend, again with my best friend and a third time with my older sister. Every time I saw it in IMAX was awesome. It's still playing in IMAX this weekend so you & Jeremy still have a chance to see it in IMAX 1.90:1 while you still can. Speaking of Zendaya, my girlfriend & I are seeing the new movie Challengers (2024) in Dolby Cinema tonight.
