Ivar's plan was great! Aethelwulf had three options: - continue chasing the Vikings - retreat - attack the enemy camp and their ships Aethelwulf chose the third option because he's a proud strategist. And Ivar had anticipated this. Well played. Ivar's strategic talents were hinted at during his chess game with Alfred. And he clearly inherited that from Ragnar prime. Legend tells us that Ivar the Boneless and his brothers ruled the North at the end of the 9th century. The show adapted this and you're watching it ;) That's why I told you not to underestimate him xD It's true that in those days, not being able to walk was a problem. But can't we see Ivar as a reason for the evolution of Western culture regarding the perception of disability? How did we come to treat people with disabilities so much better over the centuries? Ivar was perhaps one of many examples that showed people that we could make room for disabled people because they too can contribute to society.

2026-01-23 20:35:56 +0000 UTCthat attack on Kattegat was pretty cool, nice little siege :) you could see Torvi blink so she was just injured :D who would have thought Halfdan would be giving Harald valuable consultation xD as expected Harald wasnt just going to let it go, that girl should have rejected him properly when he was kind of nobody back then, now she lost everything even her life :P I like how Ivar is following in his father's footsteps, trying to be progressive, trying to evolve, he was thinking like a real general there, gotta analyse the battlefield and prepare suitable tactics :) he was like lets annoy the hell out of them and make them not want to fight us :D Ragnar did say Ivar can use his weakness as an advantage, that he should be smarter than the rest :)
