THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to The Muppet Christmas Carol! I'm trying to get ahead of recording so that I can take some time off over the holidays, so I went ahead and watched this since it was runner up on our latest poll! I loved Michael Caine as Scrooged in this one! Do you have a favorite Muppet? I need to watch more Muppet movies/specials to have a solid answer, but I LOVED Gonzo and Rizzo in this! Enjoy!

Edit to add this is the full length version of the movie! I watched it on Disney+. After clicking on the movie, the full version is under "Extras."

My dad grew up with the 1951 movie adaptation starring Alastair Sim. As a kid, I most remember the version from the 80's with George C. Scott. But the Muppet Christmas Carol is my favorite version of the story without question. Michael Caine's performance is beautiful and heartbreaking. I love how they were able to incorporate enough Muppet silliness to please the children watching("Light the lamp, not the rat!" cracks me up every time) without sacrificing the integrity of the story. Addie, I think you'd really enjoy some of the other Muppet movies. The original Muppet Movie from 1979 is fantastic, as is its follow-up, The Great Muppet Caper. You mentioned seeing the 2011 movie, I quiet enjoy its sequel, Muppets Most Wanted. I also HIGHLY recommend some of the original episodes of The Muppet Show that ran from '76 to '81, though it's hard to find them uncut, most versions I know of have been significantly edited :(

This is my perennial “I told you so” movie as well as my favorite Christmas movie. Once a year, every year. And there’s always at least one person that is always “Oh, I dunno…” when I tell them and they are ALWAYS a convert by the end. My ego likes to think I’m part of the reason sales of the movie and soundtrack tick up a bit annually. All kidding aside, so glad you watched the extended version. Hard to imagine there was ever a release without When Love Is Gone, it’s so crucial. Between that, It Feels Like Christmas, Bless Us All and A Thankful Heart, it just shines… much like everyone’s eyes do as they watch. So glad you enjoyed and it may join the holiday rotation. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Hear, hear. I agree with you. Even I watch Addie's reactions as well, whenever I needed something to make me smile after a hard day's work.

This was the first movie after our beloved Jim Henson passed away. Growing up watching Sesame Street I never realized how much of an impact he would have on my life. This came out a handful of years after graduating High School and I was as excited as a kid to see it the first chance I got. My “Thankful Heart” is thrilled you watched this. This is in my top five Christmas movies! I love the music from this and a lot of the songs are in my Christmas playlist. Belle’s song was in the original version and then taken out and gratefully replaced by fans of the original. It had some key significance. This was the first time we ever saw Kermit walking. When he’s bringing Tiny Tim to the house, we see the ground moving. It was a rolling barrel that gave us the illusion of him walking. We heard Belle sing, “When Love is Gone” and afterwards we hear Scrooge “The Love We Found” imagine if you never heard her song. As for my favorite muppet, it would be muppets! I love Robert and Jacob Marley aka Waldorf and Statler. Statler is usually on the left and Waldorf on the right. They always heckled the muppets during their shows. I have a playlist of YT reactions of this movie and yours will be put at the top of the list! Take care of yourself. Addie!!

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 So happy that you ended up watching this one. This is another must-watch movie for me over the Christmas holiday. I agree, Michael Cain is fantastic as Ebenezer Scrooge in this movie. My favorite Muppets in this movie Gonzo, Rizzo, Kermit, Kermit's nephew Robin(who was Tiny Tim), and Miss Piggy. Definitely looking forward to watching this later this evening. For some more fun Muppets films, I highly recommend "The Muppet Movie", "The Great Muppet Caper", "The Muppets Take Manhattan", and "Muppets Treasure Island". Have a great day today! 😊

I'd highly recommend checking out the 3 Muppet movies made while Jim Henson was still alive: "The Muppet Movie," "The Great Muppet Caper," and "The Muppets Take Manhattan" - as well as the 2 puppet-oriented fantasy films Henson made in the '80s ("The Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth") - to get a full idea of what they were all about.

Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992). I'm definitely watching this movie at some point this weekend. My favorite Muppet will always be Kermit the Frog. You should definitely watch ALL of the Muppets movies including The Muppet Movie (1979), The Great Muppet Caper (1981), The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), Muppet Treasure Island (1996), Muppets from Space (1999), The Muppets (2011) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014). #MoreMuppetsForAddieCounts I do hope that you, Jeremy and Ollie have a Merry Christmas. 🎄🎄
