NATIONAL TREASURE - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to National Treasure! This one was so much fun! I realized that this is the first movie I've seen with Nicolas Cage (other than hearing his voice in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse)! Enjoy!

More films like this are The DaVinci Code (2006), Sherlock Holmes 1 & 2, (2009) and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)

I just noticed that the story of the treasure revolves around keeping it out of the hands of the British, so we spend the whole movie trying to prevent Sean Bean and his British goons from trying to get the treasure xD Also Please Watch "The Unbearable weight of massive talent" for the channel, not on your own :) 2nd National Treasure is also a hoot to watch. Very fun! "National Treasure Book of Secrets"

As someone who likes history I always appreciated this movie. It's cool how they could connect some real historical moments and items into a fictional plot. The second movie is similar. I liked it, but I didn't think it's as good as the first because the writing was lazy in one particular aspect. I'd say it's also a little more dark.

The next one is fun too.

When Ben dropped Abigail, he apologized, she said she would have done the same.. we then see Riley strolling down with a serious look on his face. “I would have dropped you both.” The first time I saw this I thought that he was a part of Ian’s group and was going to reveal his betrayal. Happily he was still on Ben’s side. As for the second movie, I hope you do continue and see that too.

I second ALL of the Nicolas Cage/Jerry Bruckheimer movies including The Rock (1996), Con Air (1997), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), G-Force (2009) & The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010). #MoreNicolasCageAndJerryBruckheimerForAddieCounts

Not much to say about this one, but it seems folks are giving their Nicolas Cage recs so I'll add Valley Girl (1983). Not a particularly good movie, but it does nail an 80s vibe. He also had a tiny part in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), which I'll include not for Cage but just cos it was a great movie.

Nicolas Cage is has very strong screen presence and is always interesting to watch.

Addie, this is one of the most tame roles Cage has had (light and fun, the second film is ok but I don’t remember much and only saw it when it releases in theaters). Before stepping into “The Unbearable Weight …”, I think a sampling of other roles which have contributed more to the mythos/meme that is Nic Cage would be fun for you. There are some true deep dives which you may not enjoy but other films like The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off begin to peel the onion a bit more and likely would be good for reactions. My personal favorite of his is Leaving Las Vegas (he won the Oscar for it incidentally ) but that one is quite a dark film thematically so I don’t know that it’d make a good reaction and/or might just make you sad. For roles that tip into the Cage meme world, there’s Ghost Rider, Wicker Man, and more; but maybe after watching the more mainstream Bruckheimer films, a quick YouTube compilation of Cage being Cage will likely suffice. 🙂

Nicolas Cage movies are almost always fun, or at least interesting. This movie is a lot of fun, and I love movies like this.

Speaking of Jon Turteltaub, who directed this movie and it's sequel National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007), I also suggest Cool Runnings (1993), While You Were Sleeping (1995), Phenomenon (1996), Disney's The Kid (2000), The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010), Last Vegas (2013) & The Meg (2018). #MoreJonTurteltaubForAddieCounts

Nicolas Cage embraces any role he is in. Even a lot of the B list movies he's in as of late, he never fails to dissappint as an actor, always entertaining to watch even if some of the movies themselves are dissapointing. This is one of the movies where its fun to watch him and the movie, and id say the 2nd one is just as good xD

Speaking of Sean Bean, who plays Ian Howe in this movie & Boromir in LOTR, I also suggest Patriot Games (1992, but watch The Hunt for Red October (1990) first), Goldeneye (1995), Ronin (1998), Don't Say A Word (2001), Troy (2004, DIRECTOR'S CUT), The Island (2005) and Flightplan (2005). #MoreSeanBeanForAddieCounts

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 I love this movie! And it's one of my top favorite Nicolas Cage movies. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Another great Nicolas Cage movie that I very highly recommend is one of his earlier films, the 1986 "Peggy Sue Got Married". And for a movie that's kind of on the same level as this one, I very highly recommend the 2008 movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth" starring Brendan Fraser. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

I hope you check out RAISING ARIZONA (a Coen Bros comedy) and FACE/OFF (a fun action movie co-starring John Travolta). They're 2 of Nicolas Cage's very best films.

The actor who plays a young Thomas Gates is Jason Earles, who plays Jackson Stewart in Hannah Montana.

Happy Friday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed National Treasure (2004). This was also the first Nicolas Cage movie that I've seen. I own it on DVD in both Widescreen (2.39:1) & Full Screen (1.33:1) formats. The movie was shot in Super 35 by Zooey Deschanel's father, Caleb Deschanel, ASC. I do hope you & Jeremy enjoy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) because my girlfriend & I enjoyed seeing it in theaters. See you soon for National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007).
