BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever! I loved the first Black Panther movie sooooo much, and you can tell that Chadwick Boseman was such a huge part of what made that movie so great. This film was a beautiful tribute to him, and the last couple of scenes were my favorite moments in the movie. Enjoy!

So yes Namor the Sub-Mariner is a Mutant with this being the first time the term "Mutant" has been used in the MCU. Mutants were mentioned in a deleted scene in Iron Man 1 featuring an alternate version of the Nick Fury end credit scene. This never made it into the final film most likely for legal reasons but it showed that they hoped Mutants would be apart of the MCU from day one. Little backstory on Namor. He Debuted in April 1939 as Marvels first Superhero character followed by Human Torch, Angel, and Masked Raider in October 1939. This group fought in WW2 re-dating the adventures of Captain America by two years who became the most famous WW2 Marvel hero in 1941. The original Human Torch, Jim Hammond was an android who was actually shown in Captain America: The First Avenger at the 1943 Stark Expo as a Synthezoid on display in an oxygen-deprived glass tube coined "The Synthetic Man". Angel is not to be confused with Angel from the X-Men and the Masked Raider seems to be a very forgotten character. Like I said at the start Namor is also a Mutant in the comics (Often given the title The First Mutant but not the first Mutant in universe) who originally thought his powers were a gift from his gods until he meet Professor X, Charles Xavier. He’s bounced around from working with Doctor Doom to working with Avengers. The overall plot of this film is heavily inspired by the Avengers vs X-Men comic that featured five mutant leaders soon became hosts to the Phoenix Force, including Namor. He used this incredible power to amplify his own natural abilities. Tracking the Avengers to Wakanda, Namor created a massive tidal wave. The wave flooded the entire country of Wakanda, effectively destroying the kingdom and killing countless innocent citizens.

First, RIP Chadwick Boseman. I think they did a great job honoring him in this movie. As for the rest of it, I think what I liked the most was that there were no real heroes or villains. I walked away feeling a good level of distrust for everyone, so I'm hoping that may lead to fun storylines in the future.

Honestly when people talk about issues with Phase 4 I don't point to Wandavision, or Loki, or Werewolf by Night, or No Way Home as examples of why it's great, I point to THIS MOVIE! Wakanda Forever manages to honour Chadwick Boseman's legacy and set up a new status quo for Black Panther. I dont understand why people ignore all that GREATNESS. Those films and shows alone are better than the whole DCEU, and even Black Widow and Multiverse of Madness and Shang Chi have a lot to offer!! I'd love to see Shuri crossover with the Avengers in the future. I just hope we get there...

I am like you, the Oceans scare the shit out of me!

We had to say goodbye to the characters, Iron Man and Black Widow, and our Avengers isn’t quite the same. We were far more heartbroken when we lost Chadwick Boseman himself Thoughts of recasting were going to come up utterly short. They did it right. It was proper for Shuri to be the next Black Panther. Take care of yourself, Addie!! Hello, Ollie!!

When I went to go watch Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on opening day at the cinema I was not prepared for the emotion this movie had. I have not cried so much in my life that when the movie was over, I needed time to process what I just watched because I have never had a movie feel as close to me as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The best and most impactful moments from the movie (for me) was the beginning of the movie when we witnessed T’Challa die offscreen, The whole scene of Queen Ramonda firing Okoye and the ending of the movie where Shuri finally does the ritual that her mother tried to do with her on the one-year anniversary of T’Challa’s earlier in the movie but also the part at the end where ‘Lift Me Up’ by Rihanna starts playing, I completely lost it and the whole time the song was playing I was crying the whole way through! I was soo upset when Angela Bassett (who played Queen Ramonda in the movie) didn’t win the Oscar for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ that she deserved! Nothing against Jamie Lee Curtis who won the Oscar for her performance in ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ she gave a brilliant performance👍, it was the fact that literally everyone who had interviewed Angela Bassett after receiving her Oscar nomination day to her face that this was her moment and she is going to win to which it made me more confident than ever that she would finally get her Oscar she so well deserved! Considering the fact that it had been like 30 years since her last Oscar nomination made it feel like she was long overdue for an Oscar! Thank god Angela is finally getting an Oscar as a ‘honorary Oscar’ the academy gives out to actors for there contributions to the Academy and films in general👍. As for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, this is my favorite MCU movie and also one of my favorite movies of all time period! This is just such a perfect movie and I’m so glad they were able to make this movie because this such a perfect send off to a legend that gave it his all to create such a beloved character that will be remembered for years to come!🙅‍♂️

So happy you've finally went through it with us. This movie absolutely wrecked me. The way the movie felt with Tchalla and Chadwick Boseman, it was like not only were the characters going through grief, but the actors were as well. You could actually feel the pain through the screen. Shuri mocing through her grief was so hard to watch. You never really stop grieving, even after you're in a healthy place, you'll always miss them and a part will always hurt that they're gone. At the end, it's such a beautiful payoff, that in Shuri accepting her loss, right after she sees that she has more family than she knows. She's not alone, and she can take comfort that she has a nephew. It's such a rare thing, that a movie can make you feel like this. RIP to the amazing, talented, and heroic, Chadwick Boseman. For the rest of the movie, I loved Namor and Talokan. Such an awesome place to take a villain that's not only understandable, but sympathetic. And the way they made the origins of Talokan, are incredibly similar to Wakanda. A shaman was given a vision of their God, leading them to a plant that led to their lives being changed forever. Namor is a pretty special character in Marvel. Not technically, but I'll say it for the sake of the movie, he's the first original Marvel character. He was previously known as the Sub-Mariner, and as we heard in the MCU once again, he is a mutant. That definitely explains why he's so strong. Not just the plant, but the wings, and his near invulnerability when he's in the water. So we are advancing more and more with mutant kind, until we get to see the X-Men and how the world would react to mutants everywhere. I get that the movie felt different, pacing wise, that is definitely in part of Chadwicks passing. They had to reframe the entire movie and how it goes. But I think this was a solid one, and they told they story they needed to. Next up is Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania! It's a..... different movie. But it's definitely important to the future and you'll see why very quickly 😅 See you then Addie!

Cool fact: The new character is called Iron Heart (Ri Ri Williams) She's a newish character in Marvel comics.

Speaking of Angela Bassett, I also suggest Strange Days (1995), written by James Cameron & directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

This is the mural of Chadwick Boseman that was at the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland, that was placed there after his passing. https://townsquare.media/site/692/files/2020/09/CHADWICK-BOSEMAN-MURAL-DISNEYLAND.jpg?w=1200&h=0&zc=1&s=0&a=t&q=89

Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 RIP always to Chadwick Boseman!!! 💜 I agree. This movie was a beautiful tribute to him. Angela Bassett and Letitia Wright stole the movie with their performances. And the cameo from Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger was a great surprise. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Shuri as the new Black Panther. And I think it's safe to assume that M'Baku becomes the new ruler of Wakanda, while Shuri remains the new Black Panther. Love seeing Everett Ross back. He's one of my favorite characters. And that post-credit scene was so sweet, Shuri getting to meet her nephew. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening with lots of tissues on hand. Have a great day today! 😊

Happy Monday, Addie. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) is a great follow-up to the previous film. The opening funeral for T'Challa was heartbreak at its finest and there was a pindrop of silence during the Marvel Studios logo animation because of it being a tribute to Chadwick Boseman (RIP). The moment Shuri meets her nephew, Toussaint, was very heartwarming. Because of the emotional experiences that Shuri endures throughout the course of the movie, I personally believe that Marvel IS cinema.

Alex Tan

I've been needing to watch it again. Hope Guardians 3 is next!
