WEREWOLF BY NIGHT - Full Length Reaction!

Giacchino is also known for his punny tracklists on the film soundtracks that he does.

Death by your own hand! I have to applaud that comment. lol Your reaction to hearing, “Ted” was awesome! So this is what a werewolf looks like! It was a pretty cool nod to the classic Werewolf. Is there anything more peaceful, tranquil, and calming as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” That was a great touch when we see Elsa’s jacket change color. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! Take care of yourself, Addie!! Tell Ollie I said hi!!

It took Addie a couple of seconds longer than I thought it would for her to say 🥰”AWE”🥰when she first saw Ted 😆 I knew she would love him and Jack!!! This was definitely a highlight of phase 4. Michael Giacchino made his MCU directorial debut with this special, but this is not his first time working on a MCU project. He is primarily a composer and has composed the score for Dr.Strange (2016) which is the movie that the MCU fanfare made its debut in, so every time we hear that iconic melody is all thanks to Michael Giacchino! He also composed all three of the MCU Spider-Man movies and co-composed Thor:Love and Thunder. He did such a fantastic job with Werewolf By Night I hope the MCU brings him back to direct another project, maybe a show or even full length movie.

I really think this is one of Marvel's best...

This was a first time watch myself! It wasn't really on my radar. It was pretty good! I used to read Marvel comic books when I was a kid and I recognized that green plant monster as the MAN-THING. Okay, I did recently read the Marvel "Civil War" comic, but that's beside the point. *ahem* The Man-Thing was a doctor who accidentally turn himself into that creature. There was a "Man-Thing" movie back in 2005 that was pretty bad but I hope to see more of the character after this depiction. Thanks for drawing my attention to this Marvel short, Addie. You made it a lot of fun to watch!

When I was young, before I got into the standard comics, I used to read the Marvel black and white giant sized Man Thing, Howard The Duck, etc....They will always hold a special place in my heart.

Wait, this is MCU? wow I never would of guessed

This was Michael Giacchino first time directing something non music related as he's a composer at heart. He composed the music for The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Star Trek Reboot, Up, Inside Out, Doctor Strange, Rogue One, The Batman, and of course Werewolf by Night. So this special was very much created around his music and it was really cool to see a music composer dive into directing. Marvel needs to go all in on these "Special Presentation". Be creative and have these be the tool to introduce the lesser known Marvel characters into the MCU. Everyone from Elsa Bloodstone, Jack Russell, and Man-Thing are lesser known Marvel characters with Man-Thing being the more well known as he was a member of the Midnight Sons along with Werewolf by Night, Jack Russell. The Midnight Sons are a fictional team of supernatural superheroes often lead by Doctor Strange and including members such as Blade, Ghost Rider, Morbius, Hannibal King, Man-Thing, Werewolf by Night, and Moon Knight to name a few. For DC fans they're similar to Justice League Dark, Brach of the Justice League formed to deal with the Supernatural. No doubt a Midnight Sons movie or show down the road but at the moment Marvel should focus on Quality over Quantity. The Special Presentation to me just seem like a fun way for Marvel to be creative and allow Directors to go all in on stories that don't have much connection to the main MCU storyline and can be watched whenever by anyone. A non MCU watcher could easily jump into Werewolf by Night and enjoy it without any insight into the greater MCU universe.

BTW, watching this in July makes it a perfect fun, not-so-scary mid-summer Halloween treat. Another not-so-scary Halloween movie that I would love to suggest to you is Disney's Haunted Mansion (2023). My girlfriend & I just saw it in Dolby Cinema last night and we both enjoyed it.

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 I honestly had forgotten about this one. I watched it once when it first came out. And I really enjoyed it. I'm definitely looking forward to revisiting this for a second time later this evening. Have a great day & weekend! 😊

Happy Friday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Werewolf By Night (2022). My girlfriend & I watched it in October last year and we both enjoyed it. Speaking of werewolves, for Halloween, I also suggest the unrated director's cut of The Wolfman (2010) with Benicio Del Toro and directed by Joe Johnston, the director of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) & Jurassic Park III (2001). #TheWolfman2010ForAddieCounts
