NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to National Lampoon's Vacation! I wanted to go ahead and watch this one because I'm currently on vacation!! Whoooo! It was the perfect movie to get me excited for a trip :) Since I've already seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, I knew that the Griswold family would get into some trouble, but I didn't quite expect the WILD ride that they went on hahaha. Fingers crossed that my trip doesn't quite end up like theirs. Enjoy!

β€œEuropean Vacation coming soon?

Benjamin Hall

Ironically, the actor who plays the clerk at the Colorado campground (Brian Doyle Murray -- Bill Murray's older brother) also plays Clark's boss in "Christmas Vacation."

Great reaction, Addie. Don't know if you noticed, but the "Holiday Road" song was by Lindsey Buckingham, who is best known for his work with Fleetwood Mac.

Luis Fernandez

Addie, "I do love dogs..." Oh no... This one is going to hurt.

The Real NC Picker

Of course, this movie totally wouldn't work today thanks to the Internet.

As far as I'm concerned, she's now seen the only 2 "Vacation" movies worth seeing, so I'm perfectly fine with her ending it here.

I remember this one back in the day!

Yes, that's Anthony Michael Hall (i.e. Brian from "The Breakfast Club" and the douchebag boyfriend from "Edward Scissorhands") as Rusty. He and Dana Barron (Audrey) were both originally supposed reprise their roles in the sequel "European Vacation," but Hall turned down the role to be in John Hughes' "Weird Science" instead, thus leading both of them to be recast in "European Vacation" as well as leading to the running joke of both Rusty and Audrey being played by different actors in every subsequent movie. It also annoys me that Warner Brothers apparently can't be bothered to spring for the clearance to once again use the Pointer Sisters song "I'm So Excited" during Clark's 2 on-the-road encounters with the girl in the red Ferrari. Instead they replaced it with the song that was used during their middle encounter at the rest stop on both occasions. "I'm So Excited" just made it all feel so much more urgent.

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 I'm so excited that you're watching the first "National Lampoons Vacation" movie. This, and "Christmas Vacation", are my two favorites in the 'Vacation' movie series. Since you've already watched the Christmas one and now the first one, hopefully you'll be able to finish the series with "European Vacation" and "Vegas Vacation" at some point. I hope that you're having a great time on your vacation. Have a great rest of the day! 😊

Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm so glad that National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) got you hyped for your own vacation. I do hope that you & Jeremy have fun and I have complete faith that yours WON'T end up like theirs.
