ONE PIECE EPISODE 401 REACTION!!!

Comments

Ironically, i think Naruto is probably the best example you could use for my side. Yes, the war arc was bloated, controversial, and Boruto as a series gets continuously memed and hated on. Naruto as a franchise probably has the worst public perception at this moment then it ever has before… and yet even as recently as last month; not only is Boruto barely behind One Piece in terms of popularity on the Shone Jump website; but they even confirmed that in 2024 the most read chapter of Boruto was read by more users than the most read chapter of One Piece. And Boruto only releases 12 chapters a year compared to Odas 40-ish. So while consistently might certainly be nice when it comes to OP popularity, its not the only thing. There is 100% an extra layer that stems from long running series irregardless of the actual perceived quality of the work.

You're not necessarily wrong, but I would put that down to these short mangas that perhaps have an ending that divides their fanbase too much or that didn't know how to keep them engaged until the end. So we come back to what I was saying for One Piece, if the fans stayed for more than 25 years, it's because they wanted to. Same thing for fans like me who started the manga 15 years ago (or less). This is a feat from Oda. And it's largely due to the fact that One Piece is a manga that maintains its consistency most of the time. Naruto managed to keep his fans core for a very long time but for the last endless arc it was very "complicated" (and I'm using that word to be nice).

Hmmm; I disagree with that last part honestly. Especially since every mid-to-long running manga in history that i can think of has managed to hold a majority of its audience the whole way through. Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, Yugioh, Black Clover, Fairy Tail, Ginatama, MHA, HxH, Berserk, Jojos, etc… all long running series, and all with dedicated audiences to this day. If anything, i feel like its the *shorter* series like JJK, AoT and Demon Slayer that suffer the biggest drop off in audience-ship. But thats just my perspective looking at it from the outside.

Nothing much changed tbh, I still like the guy a lot (although EHI made Kuma my new favorite). If anything his character got more depth. Especially knowing that he gave food to help you know who. Hopefully Oda gives him a backstory before the end of the series, I'm really interested in knowing more of his past.

Kizaru

Not really. If people didn't love One Piece anymore, they would've stopped years ago. Some guys like you have dropped out. Which is normal given the length. But thank goodness, you are very far from representing the majority 🤣 This also gives additional credence to One Piece's sales records. It's easier for a mangaka to keep his whole audience in a short period of time. So give some respect to Eiichiro GODA !

Nicholas Kent

Awww... RIP to the editor yap sessions. They will be missed. 😔 🙏 (For real though; hope things go well with the guy and he doesn't have to push himself too much <3 )

Mike G. M.

To be fair; the fact that it's also the longest running consecutive manga *does* give it a bit of artificial inflation in that regard XD

Mike G. M.

So what's been your opinion of him since EHI ? If I may ask~

Mike G. M.

One Piece is the best-selling manga in the world. 600 millions copies worldwide. Now you can understand why

Nicholas Kent

live reactions would be crazyyy

Prototype

You were right that the special unit that guy was so afraid of was all these Kumas, that was a great catch

oPhilip

Yeah Aokiji is Ice, Kizaru is Light and you will see the third one eventually

José Lima

Also congrats, you just entered what I personally consider to be the best 100 episodes in the whole series. (Not saying that things get bad after episode 500 though, it just get somewhat "slower" for a long period.)

Kizaru

Can't watch right now, but I hope my username shows you how much I like this admiral, lmao. He was my favorite character for many years. His power is so cool and his personality is priceless, but he can be really badass too. He is one of the most unpredicatable characters and definitely the biggest troll in One Piece imo hahaha!
