I agree with your observation about Jane. She was definitely abused as a kid. That's why she reverts back into a child around Al and Cy. Pimping is abuse as an occupation and Al and Cy are both pimps, so they immediately remind her of her abuser(s). Al has softened a bit since Season 1, but Cy still has that sinister energy.
