Alma's fit is always on-point. Good observation on the racial commentary. I love The General's budding relationship with Jane. Her odd couple relationships ae one of the highlights of the show.

No wonder Richardson was giving her the 😍 Hostetler (black guy who owns the livery) being literate and able to do arithmetic was a big deal back then even ignoring all the social discrimination. Eddie Sawyer asked E.B. in season 1 if he could read and when Cy was buying that hooplehead's claim the guy couldn't even write his name, just an "X". Love that little detail that exposes how ignorant the racial superiority mindset is.
