Many people who worked on Boardwalk Empire also worked on Sopranos, and not just the actors. for example this ep (along with the other 2 first ones) was directed by Timothy Van Patten who also directed many Sopranos episodes

He played the guy that was the middle man in the botched Phil Leotardo hit in season 6 He was in a few episodes of the Sopranos
