I am sorry to hear about your friend, NY Mike. I didn't know him, but he sounds like a great guy. In my local group, we've lost a few people. In every instance, the collection has been an issue. The first two, the spouses had no idea what to do with it. Luckily, they turned to the group to help them sell it off for better than wholesale. The third had found out he had terminal cancer and left his collection to his best friend who was also in our group. About Transformers R.E.D., I agree, they're a little too cartoony. I also have a feeling they're going to be 6" across the board, kind of like Action Masters. Scaling is a big deal to me. I wish Optimus, Megs, and Soumdwave were 7" or Voyager sized instead of six". I pretty much base my "CHUGsterpiece" collection on Optimus Prime Megatron being being 7"-7.5" tall. Every other figure scales to that. There are a few exceptions because "scale is in the eye of the beholder".
