So I do not want to go on a massive rant on minimum wage, but I think people often do not take the right perspective on these issues. Forget the personal individual treat the country as the individual. When a populous has the money they need to survive. And I am not talking about just enough to keep from dying. I mean enough where they can see worth in what they do. They won't be on those welfare programs that was mentioned. They will be able to afford healthcare, not slamming emergency rooms, and skipping out on bills and causing healthcare cost to rise. They won't be engaging in as much crime. The kids of these adults will have parents who do not have to work 2 jobs so they do not starve so they can actually spend time with there kids and be more active in their lives and education. Thus ensuring better behaved kids and resulting in kids who grow up being able to more productive adults. From a national standpoint poverty is like a sickness that drains the country of resources. It causes higher costs in education, healthcare, taxes, and increased crime. Raising the minimum wage has historically boosted the economy as a whole. People who have money spend it. Also corporations are not benevolent. The way they are structured by design causes them to not be moral in their decisions. If there was no minimum wage everyone would be paid as little as possible when they could get away with it. There is a reason people used to live with multiple families in a one room apartment in cities. And while this may seem like a rant, trust me this could have been much much longer. 8-)

Great episode. I enjoy the political stuff because you fellas treat opposing views points with respect. Nice work. Any thoughts on Universal basic income as opposed to minimum wage hikes?
