Hey Bobby, he DOES actually have butterfly joints. They're just very well hidden by his harness and a little tight out of the box.

The waist articulation and drop down hips emulate the rubber band feel of the original figures, and might be my favorite part of the product. I also like that karate hand a lot, but feel like i am wasting the weapons if I use it lol.
