The discussion of the "Good Guy" archetype is fascinating. I do feel like modern comics & movies have shifted toward a flawed anti-heroe rather than the Boy Scout for heroes. I also feel that modern intellectualism has been nudging society into moral relativism for the last fifty years. That is, "the Good Guys aren't all that good and the Bad Guys aren't all that bad". This is most often true, buy it leaves a moral vacuum in the modern consciousness. I apologize for being in the weeds on this, but I think it gives people an excuse to not do the right thing when doing the wrong thing is easier. That's an oversimplification, but that's the point. It's a simple choice. Superman and Captain America are expressions of this need for there to be an example to follow. Doing the right thing no matter what it costs you is the standard the good guy. "Let Justice be done though the heavens fall" kind of thing. I guess that's why Tony Stark's deal with Cap in End Game pissed me off. We will always need Superman and Captain America. Side note:. The MCU needs Cap moving forward more than Marvel Studios realizes.

Would love to hear the conservations of DC vs Marvel, I feel our viewpoints are somewhat biased versus my personal experience especially with dealing with non-US individuals. The Watchmen show has me lost personally I feel real uncomfortable about and Heroes in Crisis was trash I just did not want to ruin it for you.
