Visual Novel Mockup

I think I forgot to post this earlier, so here is the image from the Patreon video where I teased a visual novel. I gotta say, google sketchup is the best. The background is all stuff I mashed from the sketchup warehouse and repainted, but this was meant to be a test. I see lots of things wrong with it like the perspective is too high up and the lines are too dark, which makes them stand out as sketchup furniture. I think Hunie Pop's background artist used a similar technique, but for our visual novel we'll have more traditional painted backgrounds. I want it to look like an anime, you know? Anyway I thought I'd share this mockup since it was a super early test of how everything could work/look.

I would love to hear what you think a Crush Crush visual novel could be like!! It's looking very likely that we'll start working on that around October/November.

haha ohhhh you. I don't think Google Sketchup is used that much anymore, but it's a simplified 3D architect program. Like Maya for dummies! Weee

I can't make VNs but maybe I should do some Crush Crush fanfiction just to annoy Oji Panda? >:D Although all I can do is write stories, and I don't wanna get stuck doing 700+ pages of story again. >>

I am 100% down for the VN, love playing them. Super excited to be able to delve more deeply into your vision for these characters and their personalities! I would imagine a Crush Crush VN to basically just be a more story-driven form of Crush Crush, rather than more of a clicker-type game. I figure you should be able to meet all the girls and choose who to go spend time with and try to develop a relationship with, perhaps learning more about the characters via contextual questions as in HuniePop, except rather than the questions being random, you get different questions based on the amount of time you've spent with a character and the questions already asked, as well as other conversation responses between you and the character. Basically, if you treat the character well according to her personality, she is more likely to let you ask more intimate questions and answer truthfully rather than deny you information for being a jerk. I'm imagining a calendar-based system where maybe some girls are off-limits on some days. Maybe in order to progress with girls past certain past certain points, you have to remember to spend time with them and/or give them gifts on their birthday of the type of gifts that are their preference and/or take them on dates of their preference, likely including having you remember tidbits of information they've provided you about themselves (preferably without a direct prompt for the answer, such as you buying the girl flowers for her birthday but having to then choose those of her favorite color/type, rather than her quizzing you outright about what her favorite color/flower is.)

sketchy ketchup, i.e. ketchup packets/containers that have been sitting out for an extended period of time and you're not sure if they have gone bad or not.

I don't know what a sketchup is. Some form of condiment, I think? >>

Aww you're so sweet! I want to make sure it looks really good, and I'm trying to learn live2D to see if that effect can work in our VN. It would look SO cool but be SO much work, haha!

Branching dialogues and fates are a must! I love the idea that every action you do impacts the results for everyone; total butterfly effect.

With so many interesting characters, it's bound to be fun and entertaining, not to mention humorous. Can't wait to play it when it comes out!

What kind of game will it be i hope its like those butterfly affect games.Say im nice to cassie i get to meet mio or if i ignore cassie i get to meet quill prob get more branches if i get items from certain girls then reset start from cassie give her that item or say something i learned leads to some thing else kinda like crush crush i have to reset to get faster timers

The sketchup does look a little odd, but I don't mind the way it looks. In-regards to whether or not use painted backgrounds or sketchup, I'd go with whatever would be easier due to the fact that you've only got one artist, more so given that this will be your studio's first VN. No matter what you go with, I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with :3
