VBros After-work Genderbends

Some doodles I did after work.

Thoughts:

The Painted Lady / Malcolmina (The Monarch): Based on Queen Taramis’ costume design from the Conan the Destroyer movie (and other 80s She-Ra type sci-fantasy villainesses). High drama, like you can already imagine that she’s descending upon a stage rigged up to harnesses and strings. The cords that form her antennae is her real, braided hair, sculpted in a meticulous way to withstand stunt entrances and running from danger.

Dr. Boyfriend / Sheldon (Dr. Girlfriend): I imagine he goes by “The Painted Doctor” after the wedding. Honestly I went back and forth between giving him a pencilstache or not, it just kept making me giggle too much. Besides, I based his whole look after the Mod Men of the ‘60s with their heavy wool pea coats and they seemed typically clean-shaven from the pictures I referenced. He has s dignified, put-together air that compliments his wife’s outlandishness.

Hannah Venture (Hank) - Hit puberty faster than her sister. One of those young girls who enjoys the company of boys better.

Dinah Venture (Dean) - As my friend Fran noticed, she has her aunt Malcomina’s braids! Not much to say about these two kids in general since their design core started off as very archetypal adventure kids, so I tried to keep that sense of blunt simplicity in the swap.

Doc Venture / Thaddea “Rusty” Venture - Doc is still basically Doc here, I imagine very few alterations. I just gave her an undershirt because she probably gets cold a lot in her lab and has a slightly weaker constitution. Aging horribly.

Brandy Samson - I just love the name Brandy for some reason. Her outfit is modeled after Sonya Blade’s in the first Mortal Kombat movie (the Juke Joint Jezebel fight scene with Kano left a lasting impression on young me). Wanted to balance her “could lift a car” physique with a typical 80s/90s action girl sex icon that is still pandering to men in a way, since she’s obviously slept with countless. Hence the gloriously huge blonde mane à la Miss Bellum.
