Hope on the Street : ep.4-5 'I Don't Know' & 'What If'

Hope on the Street is SO GOOD!🥰

I’m so happy I waited until I knew Hobi better to give this show the watch it deserves because it’s so much fun to watch someone you love and admire indulging in their passions!!

I’ll never get tired of seeing Hobi’s huge smile and listening to his authentic laughter as he gets to explore the world and learn more about dance.

He also looked INSANELY EXTRA cute these two episodes and my heart still hasn’t come down from it!!

The girl is Yunjin from Le Sserafim and she never said herself that she wasn’t a fan of BTS anymore from what I know

Thank you so much for this reaction. Been waiting since last year for you to jump back in lol. HAppy that you did and enjoyed it. One more to go. Jhope's artistry really impresses me everytime. This documentary is by far my fav. It really dives into who he is and he opened up so much. I'm really proud of him

Even in bonvoyage he said him and namjoons “characters” don’t interact much but in real life they talk a lot. He’s always “on” which has to be exhausting. Even talking to the judges on I live alone you could see in his face he looked sad saying he wouldn’t be able to have a real relationship, then covered it up saying it’s bc he loves his job. 😔

Oh yes his comment after the MAMA show stuck with me too. Actually multiple times throughout this doc I have felt him trying to uphold something and saying things just for sake of saying them. Now, he could just be tired or irritated and it comes across as insincere, but I can also totally see the burn out and the need to shed this persona he has clung on to for so long.

In my humble opinion, this is the most vulnerable we have seen Hobi, other than in his music. In my opinion him and Jin are the biggest enigmas of BTS and are the ones that put on a "work-persona" the most. With Hobi, he has always been my ult bias of all the groups I stan, but I have always been yearning to know the real him. His dance leader persona is a glimpse but still crafted to his dance image and approved beforehand. The real him, of which his cheery persona and dance leader side are mere fractions of, is vastly unknown. This doc gave me a proper look at the person behind the persona and I have fallen even deeper than I first did with this man. The conversation in Paris where he is at the table saying he is pretending to enjoy things, that itself is a HUGE STEP for him, cuz he is not sticking with the happy-go-lucky 24/7 chill guy persona. Leading up to that statement, when he is thinking of how to phrase his thoughts, THAT is the real Jeong Hoseok. I know it seems like a few random seconds of someone getting their words together but as someone who has seen countless footage of this man for years, I can say that to me, that was definitely something. On a lighter note, he is so boyfriend in these two eps it's crazy. I hope he has someone appreciating him like that in his life who loves him deeply because he deserves the love he radiates.

in the paris ep, he said he often says how much he loves his life and his work, etc. but feels like he's just saying it and not really meaning it.... watching this series the second time, I noticed he says that in an earlier ep (the seoul ep, maybe? episode 3?). I think it was around the beginning, after Boogaloo Kin complimented him on his MAMA performance. Rewatching that, it Does sound kind of insincere (at least to me). Like he's trying to convince himself. :( It's really not surprising he felt burnt out though. 2022 Lolla took a lot out of him, plus the Yet to Come concert and all the stress around that, and then he hopped right into this, and we know he was already planning the HOTS tour... all while anxiety about having to enlist soon was hanging over his head. 😬 I'd have had a nervous breakdown. On a lighter note that hat with the ear flaps in the paris ep made him look like such a cute little puppy!!

One of the coolest things that's happened in chapter 2 has been the dance world's response to Hobi's music. Like crews all over the world use his music in competitions and performances. How full-circle fulfilling must it be for Hobi to know that aspiring dancers are doing cypher circles to Arson and What If? Like that was him 15 years ago with J. Cole and A$AP. And now he's the rapper these kids are dancing to! And then the amount of crews that have done Killin' It Girl...he's like really solidified his leadership in the dance community and achieved his goal of making music that people want to dance to. UGH. It just makes me so proud! Also, you are so relatable. "Hobi's so cuuuute!" HOBI'S SO FREAKING SEXY!" "Ohmygosh, Hobi's so pretty...he's so beautiful." haha. We got us a man who can GIVE US IT ALL.

So sad I missed this but it’s so early. His polo look was my fit for the hots concert 😌🫰🏻. Also random but I passed so many people I thought were ☠️ in LA 😟🧟‍♂️
