Here's a lil life/content update

Hewo! Here's a lil life/content update:

First of all, Happy Holidays and all that jazz. Y'all better have got an advent calendar. If you havent you can probably find a reduced price one. Life's too short to not have a treat every morning.

Anywho, I only have a handful of days left of my day job - not only for the year, but overall.

I  quit my job! Kinda. I’m switching from being employed to freelancing/contracting for the same company temporarily, before moving  away from that company and being a freelancer/self employed entirely.

I’m taking the risk, and in the new year, dedicating more time towards my content creation in place of my current job.

It’s  a risk because my income from all this is much less than I have been  earning from my day job. At the same time, though, I have savings, I  still live at home, and this is the perfect time to be taking that risk.

Alex  and I have been talking about moving in together for forever, but he’s a  fresh graduate and is accruing some savings and funds first, and I want  to be able to take this risk in that same time so (hopefully) by the  time we can look at living together, my social media income is enough :)  If I need more funds I can freelance for other creators with video  editing or thumbnails or storyboarding or anything like that, or very  worst case, get a new job with my suite of new experience and numbers  from my owie creations under my CV belt.  Don't worry about me, basically! I have a brain in my skull, believe it  or not, and I'm very money responsible. Whatever happens, I will work it  out :)

What does this mean for me? The main difference is that  I’ll be working for way less hours at my day job and specifically only  on graphic design tasks, compared to the full suite of digital marketing  tasks I was doing before, and have much more time to work on the owie  stuff in the day rather than burning myself out by working at my job and  creating in my spare time.

What does this mean for you? More owie content!

I’m  hoping to spend some time looking at merch options as well. Aside from  typical merch, I’d love to eventually release a colouring book or  something like that eventually, too. If anything merch related crops up  I’ll be sure to be showing you guys first and hearing your thoughts  about potential designs.

I’m going to go a bit quiet over the  Christmas period to spend time with family and really rest up and  recharge, but you should see a new video before the end of the year, and  hopefully two videos in January. I think I will schedule some  image/text posts to automatically go up over the Christmas break for you  guys with behind the scenes content from the early days of owie :)
