It's so true, I really do feel sad for Max and Billy too. And you're 100% right about the body horror! Didn't realize it until you put it that way haha

2026-03-16 19:28:56 +0000 UTCI kinda call this third season the "body horror" season of Stranger Things. So much biology doing things it wasn't meant to do and normally would kill the host. That scene with Billy against the kids was both horrifying and heartbreaking when you realize that even though Billy is an asshole and even violent at times, he never meant to kill anyone or be a slave to the Mindflayer. You could see it in his confession to Max, when he regains some control to talk about what he's done while being taken over. Heartbreaking for Max too, because she was holding out hope that maybe he would better himself and she would gain a somewhat respectable brother.
