Really enjoyed your reaction to Venom Chandra. There is a 3rd movie as well. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to Venom Let Their Be Carnage

Awesome reaction as usual! :) The comic origin of Venom starts with the origin of Spider-Man's black costume. The idea of the black costume was a fan submission which was purchased by Marvel. During the original Secret Wars miniseries, Spider-Man was needing to replace his costume and ended up going to the wrong machine and getting a "costume" made of an alien material which could alter its appearance and produce webs at a thought. Fast forward, Spider-Man is back on earth and is having some weird experiences he can't explain and goes to Reed Richards for help. Reed determines that the "costume" is an alien symbiote which is trying to permanently bond with Spider-Man. With help from Reed and a sonic blaster, Spider-Man is able to remove and isolate the symbiote which leaves with Reed. Meanwhile, Eddie Brock makes a name for himself by interviewing and writing about a man claiming to be the serial killer dubbed The Sin-Eater. In the process of solving the murders, Spider-Man uncovers that it's a different person which ruins Eddie's career and reputation. Spiraling into depression Eddie pours his rage into body building and develops a venomous hate for Spider-Man. Fast forward, the symbiote escapes Reed Richards' lab and disguises itself as one of Spider-Man's regular costumes. As Spider-Man is swinging through the city he realizes that his costume is the symbiote which is trying to bond with him again. He ends up swinging into the bell tower of a nearby church and using the bells to "destroy" the symbiote. Unknown to Spider-Man, Eddie Brock is in the church, contemplating suicide. The grievously wounded symbiote slithers down from the tower and ends up bonding with Eddie over their mutual hatred for Spider-Man. The Amazing Spider-Man #300, first full appearance of Venom. After previous issues were building up some unknown menace to Spider-Man, Venom finally shows himself by terrorizing MJ during a search for Peter. Venom ambushes Spider-Man and even though he is proven to be stronger and discovers he doesn't set off Spider-Man's spidey-sense, he is eventually defeated by Spider-Man. Also, during the fight, Venom explains how he and the symbiote bonded and why they both hate him so much. While Venom was considered a villain and was actively trying to kill Spider-Man, he had a twisted moral code in which he would avoid hurting and sometimes save innocents. Eventually his attitude toward Spider-Man became less murderous and sometimes even cooperative. Eventually Venom became less of a villain and more of an anti-hero. The origin story of Venom is long and interesting but unfortunately they'll never take the time needed to put it on screen. Even in alternate comic versions the origin is drastically shortened.

I wasn't a big fan of the idea of a Venom movie that came out without including Spider-Man as part of his origin, but ended up being a fan of these movies. They just aren't part of my had canon.

Well, I mean, come on - if you're gonna read up on Venom, you need to hit the compendium that covers his origin: Spider-Man: Birth of Venom
