I know this is many months late and others have already stated similar points, but I think you guys missed that when Jon ran Tormund grabbed Ygritte and kept her from him. So Jon had no real choice at that point (she might've fought along side him and went with him if Tormund hadn't done that). Then when they met up again Jon didn't invite her but she didn't offer to go. She could have said "Hey I'll come with you" but instead she shot him with an arrow. I think that was the point, considering the situation and their loyalties Jon couldn't really ask her to come and she couldn't really offer to come, it was an impossible situation. Jon staying loyal to the night's watch doesn't make him bad though, the Wildlings will murder his friends and countless innocent people he had to put his duty above his own feelings just like Ygritte had to do the same and not run off with him. Shooting him with 3 non-lethal arrows while he ran away seemed to be the odd but appropriate middle ground.

Hm.. you make a good point on both counts. I think neither of us considered they'd be killed if they stayed together... We just wanted them to stay together so bad! Haha

I don't understand why you guys are mad at Jon? If he stayed they would have killed both of them, if he took her with him the night's watch would have killed him. He didn't have much of a choice, so I am not getting why you were mad at him. He should have died to stay with her? Or took her to her death? I guess this is one of the few moments where my opinion differs from yours lol.

Well heck, you make a lot of good points... I'm still going to be a little mad, but maybe also a bit more understanding of Jon's choice haha

I had forgotten how good this episode is. Last episode is such a downer but this one does such a good job at setting up the next chapter for everyone's stories.

I never really was angry at Jon for leaving Ygritte he was injured and Tormund had ahold of her and would no doubt kill her if Jon tried to attack him. Also Jon is loyal to the watch at the end of the day.
