What Do YOU Want to Ask Them About China?

Our most popular podcast guests, Cleo Paskal and Grant Newsham, will both be in New York this Friday. We've scheduled to have them both on China Unscripted at the same time AND in person!

Are we going to talk about serious issues, like WAR WITH CHINA? I dunno, maybe.

But first, they've agree to answer YOUR questions on the show. They won't get to see them ahead of time. So write a question in the comments below, addressed to one and/or both of them (or us), and we'll print them out before we start the recording.

Deadline is Thursday midnight US Eastern Time.

P.S. Cleo (Foundation for Defense of Democracies) has expertise on China primarily related India, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Grant (former Marine Colonel) has China expertise primarily with respect to Taiwan, Japan, and warfare in general. Your questions do not have to be limited to those topics, of course.

Cannot hide the history when many of us were there and watched. I was there the US pulled out and left 25 thousand americans in china.

Question for both: Why does Taiwan hang on to the Matsu and Jinmen islands? Being within sight of mainland China, they must surely be provocative. --Wouldn't it be a good diplomatic move for Taiwan to give the PRC those two islands? --Or are they valuable listening posts for Taiwan?.

Richard Hinman

A question to Cleo: Wouldn't have Tiananmen Square Protests been successful if the US never hides its hidden history? Nowadays, China hides Tinanmen Square Protests as part of their history.

Mervin

How freaked out is China about North Korea's latest provocation, moving nuclear-capable missile launchers to the front?

Dave

All remarkably interesting questions from my fellow Patreon supporters. I'll ask either or both guests: 1. As a (pro-democracy) Hong Kong permanent resident who's also a British and Canadian citizen, judging from Prime Ministers Sir Keir Starmer and Justin Trudeau's China relations/policies, which country is better as an immigration destination and why? 2. What's the China policies of both US Presidential candidates? and 3. Judging from the state of Hollywood, how likely is it for a production -- be it film or TV/streaming series -- to be financed with a subject sensitive to the CCP censors? I'm wondering about spy thrillers with the MSS as the antagonist, such as David Ignatius' Quantum Spy and Scott Spacek's China Hand, as well as satires such as Kevin Kwan's China Rich Girlfriend, the sequel to his Crazy Rich Asians. If the guests must choose between the 3 questions, the 2nd question is easiest to answer. Thank you for this opportunity. Kind regards, Zephyr Chan

Will the US organize a recreation of the old SEATO like treaty , including India , Vietnam and others against China to show unity . Today these countries seem disorganized in there response to Chinese aggression .

Duane Lukasek

What I want to know China as LOTS of Enemies around its Borders India is the biggest one to them When China Attacks Taiwan and Japan South Korea United States and propberly Canada and Australia along with other China sea nations like Philippines to Ad Taiwan what would Stop India from invading China with there border disputes or Tibate attacks China for independence with CIA helping them to undermined china

A question to either Grant or both: Both India and Vietnam (which both are US allies) have maintained strong relationships with Russia, despite shifting global dynamics, Russia is still selling materiel aid to India, where India already had a border clash with China. From the leftist perspective, they think that Tucker's interview with Putin is boring, failed, bewildering, constipated, humiliating, and backfired. Most of the Trump supporters I've seen on Breitbart don't view Russia as an enemy like Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson, left-leaning views on the other side, they see it as an enemy, that splits Europe since Russian people love Western culture, Alex Jones was already interviewed by Vladimir Solovyov. China wasn't only colonized by Britain but other countries like Russia and the US during the Boxer Rebellion. Russia is also an Asian country, since China threatens the death penalty to Taiwan supporters and anyone anywhere in the world (which I've seen Chris answered Lobo's question), as long as both the US and Russia are sincere, they stop caring about depopulation agenda, LGBT, and atheism, and they care more about strong family values, do you think that Russia joining NATO is a very good idea to counter China and the new world order? I think NATO should've expanded to Russia first before Poland in the 1990s, America Uncovered never reported on social media's circulating rumors about Alaska since Americans have a very low trust in the mainstream media, there's a reason why America Uncovered's video "Controversial Antisemitism Bill Explained", Farha Khalidi part, none of the leftist media like HuffPost and Raw Story have reported that I think.

Considering that the Taiwanese Legislative branch is split nearly 50/50 between the DPP and KMT does the Taiwanese population have a resolute desire to maintain independence from the CCP control? Even with the specter of the fall of Hong Kong I’d assume there would be more of a ground swell fervor against Mainland China integration but considering the political make up the popular consensus seems lukewarm to CCP resistance. If Taiwan doesn’t put forth a resolute front in resisting CCP integration why should Western Aligned Pacific Powers interfere when the US budget is already hemorrhaging? While I agree that it is in the best interest to maintain Taiwanese sovereignty but if the Taiwanese populous doesn’t agree how should we manage the situation? Why are we along with other Pacific Powers allowing the CCP to claim the South China Sea. Could we maybe support the Philippines like we do Israel so we can have a minor belligerent power ally that we moderate? This way we can be the adult in the room brokering peace while providing with competent naval and air capability.

A question to both: What about Chris, Matt, and Shelley included in the most popular podcast guests, is there any chance to have more like this (asking questions) in the next quarter year?

Mervin

A question for both: The CCP sure runs a tight ship with an iron fist, to put it mildly. What I'm quite puzzled and irritated by is when I see YouTube channels run by, most often, Americans or British people, whose narrative is rife with overwhelmingly positive impressions on living in China. Maybe paid by the CCP? Fortunately, we got channels like China Uncensored to tell us something much closer to the truth. However, online accounts by actual Chinese living in China do not exist, as expected. Or maybe I don't know where to look. So I'd like you to say a few words on what your impressions are as expert Westerners on how the Chinese people there actually feel about their life in their country and the general feelings they have on the CCP.

Ishan Chaitanya

Why do Muslims majority governments turn a blind eye to the atrocities the CCP commits against Uyghurs?

Johnny J

What role might Chinese domestic opinion play in a Taiwan invasion scenario? We hear that the CCP's rule might be endangered if it ever "lost" Taiwan, but would it? If a Taiwan invasion became a protracted, high-casualty effort, would the loss of so many young men from 1-child families create an effective backlash that could lead to a withdrawal, or would Chinese Nationalism encourage the PRC to continue the war?

Jermwar

Does Xi have total control over the party or does the Xiao Zeming faction still exist in a way that could lead to a successful coup? Would China be better off under this faction?

InSyder

Do you see Vietnam playing a major role in a conflict with CCP or might they be a a significant deterrent to keeping China from going too far down the road of conflict in the first place?

Richard D Lake

Uae,KSA, and Bahrain

Marek JM

Question for Grant: If China were to invade Taiwan, subsequently pulling the US into a war, how would the different nations surrounding China react? Stuff like Which would ally with China, which with America, which would ignore, and how would they help? What are the strategic benefits & challenges with considering them in the broader conflict strategy?

Belkan Ace

To Both: Given the CCP’s strategy to soft-attack the USA using land acquisitions, fentanyl, infrastructure hacks, infiltrating universities, stealing intellectual property, and on and on—over a time frame that greatly exceeds our election intervals—do we have any counter strategies that do not involve military assets and economic sanctions, such as supporting the people of China and Hong Kong and Taiwan against the CCP, or offering superior development project support globally? Do we think beyond 4-years?

Scott Paine

Question for either or both guests: China is known for playing the long game. What can the west or more specifically the US gain if we adopt the same strategy with the CCP?

William Hart

A question to either Grant or both: I want Taiwanese and Filipinos to remember not to talk about mass shootings, as I've already seen in America Uncovered's video "What the News ISN’T Saying About Mass Shootings", and I also want them to remember that kids playing adult games also increases crime, America Uncovered forgot to include that, so what if Taiwan has an incredibly robust, well-trained, and well-armed civilian population? Taiwan is not to be taken as pastries but rather as a thorn in the PLA side, I already asked Chris if guns can be a protected right in the Philippines. Giving gun freedom is like adding Autobahn (no speed limit on highways).

Mervin

In every conflict the US has found itself in there have been blind spots where the adversary has surprised us or where our capabilities did not meet expectations. Does the US have a blind spot in dealing with China/Russia or in its own capabilities? I'm thinking about Russia's GPS jamming.

Joseph Bucknavage

Either can answer this. What can be done to stop CCP from invading Taiwan?

Bob Zangar

A question for both guests: After the CCP collapses, would totalitarians and others like Communists and Pro-Communists (for example ByteDance) attempt to rise up and regain power in China again or can't do it all anymore as the post-CCP Confucian-style democratic China ends up becoming like India?

Mervin

What would be the best approach to containing/combating CCP influence, look like in relation to the global community? (Impeding CCP attempts to erode the sovereignty and stability of vulnerable nations.) Preferably without a direct or proxy conflict. Question for both guests.

BIGGUS_THICCUS

A question for Grant Newsham. (You've tackled it somewhat in recent videos too.) Now that NATO have cleared a path for Ukraine & called out China's materiel aid to Russia, is it inevitable we're heading to a direct war with Russia and its allies, and would China side with Russia if NATO went against Russia in a non-nuclear war? Or would they soft-aid them by using that as an opportunity to concurrently invade Taiwan?

Jay

I understand that the president of Taiwan is a separatist and that the Taiwan government or so-called Congress is rather very much for unification. Is the president the only thing keeping them from reunification? What if the president becomes a different one who is for unification with the government for unification well it just take place without a bullet fired potentially? Thank you so much for your thoughts. Richard
