End of Book 2 and Updates

Hi guys! So we’ve reached the end of Book 2 (for the Villain and Mercenary Tier at least), and I want to give you all a huge thank you for all the support. You guys have no idea how motivating, helpful, and often amusing all your comments, corrections, and feedback have been, especially in growing this world of mine. 

Now, to discuss my plans for the future: honestly, I didn’t plan Ace of Capes to be a super long serial. In book form, I imagined the main narrative getting wrapped up in 6 Books at the very most (with possibly more based on further interest in seeing the world, but if it continues, it will be with a new storyline). The books are about 250,000 words each, so that’s 1.5 million words total. I think that should be enough to tell a good, full story. 

That means we’re almost halfway through, and it’s about to ramp up. Dominos are being set and dominos are falling. A lot of bigger things come into play, especially in the next book. There’s a lot more action and twists in store. That means Books 3-4 have to be very seamlessly planned, and I need to nail down the details, the pacing and the worldbuilding.

Not to mention, I just got signed by Mango Media, which means audiobooks and hard copies will be coming sometime in the future (not sure when). That also means I need to go back to edit and fix all the plot holes that a lot of you kindly pointed out and include details that I either missed or forgot about (like the story of why exactly Xena hated Lexie in the first place). 

So I’ve decided to take 3-4 weeks off to work on all that. I will be pausing Patreon for all for that month, and will be back by the 8th of June with more chapters. I will also sadly be reducing the chapter amount to 4-5 chapters a week to maintain quality. I understand if this is less than you signed up for and will totally understand dropping, but yeah, I don’t want to burn out on the story and not be able to tell it to its full potential. (PS, I’m not sure how the pause works with a subscription system, but I think even if you just got charged for this month, it does not charge you for an extra month after I resume to make up for it. At least I believe that’s how it works. If not, PM me, and I can refund you.)

Thank you all again for reading Ace of Capes! I’m so close to going part-time at my day job (also writing, haha, but less interesting things), and it’s thanks to you guys. I’m trying to think of a way to show my gratitude, but I’m not sure how. I don’t know if I should do weekly one-shots while I’m away, but I can if that’s what people want. We can have a one-shot of Aiden’s time in the academy as a student or as a teacher, or maybe Aiden and Lara spending time with a younger Lexie, or even Lexie and Uncle Max meeting for the first time. As long as there are no spoilers, I can do that, so let me know in the poll.
