I thought I was the only one who thought this re-recording was the only one that didn't have the same umph, same passion, same intensity as the original. It's good, I'm not dogging it at all. The production is top tier, too. But I miss the intensity of Dear John and Long Live. Those emotions were still raw when she was performing Dear John on tour. I get emotional listening to the original of Long Live but not the re-recording. The only difference I can feel is the delivery. I'm in OG BTR stan. I won't stream the song (or any stolen version) but I will listen to my CD in the car and shout the original lyrics when I stream TV. I firmly believe she didn't have the same delivery in some of the songs (Dear John especially) because she didn't want Swifties to go on a witch hunt like many did with Jake Gyllenhaal. The vault tracks though? It's ALL there IMO.
