Artist Update! + Sketch Studies

Hey Everyone,

I know I started this year off a little slow but I'm trying to get myself together now. I should have been started doing these check-ins with yall so my bad.

By the way Imma try to make this an ongoing thing on Sundays from now on. So keep an eye out for them if you care for this sort of thing.

Ideally I think this would be fun to do on YouTube/Vimeo with a little speed paint but until I figure out how to do that in a pleasing way for me, these typed out versions will have to do.

Artist Life Update:

I'm realizing that its very hard for me to not think grandiosely. What can I say, I'm a big dreamer I suppose.

Honestly I just have so much I want to do, but I feel like I take way too long to create anything. I even go on these tangents of planning projects by researching, doing preliminary sketching, physically writing down a course of action for a good portion.

My brain is always going.

In my heart of hearts, I know things will build organically if I just do a little at a time and keep going but idk, my brain moves faster than my body and my interest in a particular idea fades and shifts to something new. Before you know, I've got 10+ open projects and nothing to show for them.

This isn't something new to me... Lowkey I think I've been dealing with this problem my entire life. I struggle so hard when it comes to following through.

I've chalking that up to anxiety of failing, I guess, but at some point I have to stop self sabotaging the progress I take so long to make. I just always seem to give up mentally before I even see the finish line.

I said all that to say this lol...

Now that I've done the self-reflection, and I kind of know the bad habits that need to be fixed. I have no excuses! It's not gonna be over night, but I'm trying out some new things that will hopefully keep me on track with my goals.

Art Update:

I'll be introducing a new original character soon... like very soon!!!
Planning on opening up donation commissions for black history month. (Haven't decided on the organization yet, but it'll be something in aiding black lgbtqia+ people). I'll def update yall on that though.
