Friday Rambles and Game Dev Update 2025-08-22

It's the Monday August 25, 2025 Friday Ramble for August 22, 2025.

Not Game Dev Stuf

I'm traveling, it's half for work and half for family stuff. I'm mostly settled in now at my destination, but it was a hectic few days. It's very hot here. It was also hot where I was, but it feels like another level here with the humidity and all that. Of course, I also caught a cold, so that's pretty hot, too. Anyway, back to trying to work. But maybe I should take it easy. Which I mostly did. I didn't accomplish a lot of work this week. And I haven't been able to go to any stationery shops to look at pens yet.

Last Monday, I was surprised by another Ouro Kronii stream of Endless Monday: Dreams and Deadlines (this time for the Overtime chapter). Pretty happy she decided to continue the game.

Having watched both streams for the game (for work), I think I've watched more hours of Kronii than any other Vtuber. Does that make her my "oshi"? Anyway, she didn't finish the chapter so it's possible a part 3 might happen, but I'm not like, counting on it or anything.

Game Dev Stuff

I built and submitted the 1.0.6 patch for the Nintendo Switch version of the game, so that the Switch version would have all the fixes the PC version does. They're not really super urgent fixes, so I could probably have waited, but I felt like it'd be nice to at least have the option to push it out if I really wanted to while I'm away from my main dev rig. I think the next patch is gonna be for Switch 2 compatibility things, when I am actually able to do Switch 2 dev.

That's mostly it. I also did some narrative work for Game 2, which is coming along swimmingly, or whatever.

Not Game Dev Stuff, Again

I finished reading Dune, and started reading Dune Messiah. They should make a movie or two about these books, I could see them taking off.

I drew a picture of Tiger-chan.

It took a day or so, working on it off and on. It's hot outside. Enjoy a nice cold Tiger-chan Brand Cold Brew Coffee from Tiger-chan Coffee Roastery Cafe. I'm pretty happy with the coffee I drew. I'm probably going to draw more pictures of Tiger-chan as an excuse to draw pictures of food.

And since it was Bunny day or something, I posted a picture of Bunny-chan on social media. I think people liked her.

I'm going to really have to try to get her a big role in Game 2. Or not. Spoilers! Or not! In any case, Fred Megatokyo asked me to make Bunny-chan stickers so I'm gonna be doing that once I get back home.

Speaking of stickers, with the last batch of stickers I sent out, I started putting my analog doodle practice from last week to use to add a cute handdrawn doodle to the thank you notes I include in the shipments.

Obviously I can't do this for every order because it'd take too long, but I'm thinking about including them for people who ordered a particularly large amount of stuff or added a note to the order that made me smile. Well, we'll see how I'm feeling about it when I reopen the shop.

Unsure how much drawing and story writing I'll be able to do this week, but I'll see what I can do. I should be over this cold in a couple days. Here's hoping, anyway. Anyway, thank you for your support during these trying and uncertain times. See you next week!
