Friday Rambles and Game Dev Update 2025-01-17

Wow! It's the Friday Rambles... on a Sunday...???

Real Life Stuff:

I was busy this week with a lot of real life stuff. Well, isn't this part of the real life stuff, now that it's part of my real life job? Good question. I guess it doesn't really feel real, still.

I was busy with family stuff, as I mentioned last week. It was a lot of driving, a lot of walking, a lot of visiting places. But along with my "New Year New Me" resolutions, I've been attempting to at least draw one line of art every day, which I've stubbornly been able to stick with despite the lack of free time for the past week. Cool!

Also, my game is on sale, for the last time until the Overtime update, which I'm really really really really hoping will be done before the Steam Visual Novel Fest in the first week of March.

Of course, I made a sale pic, a couple days late:

Yeah, I'll make a new one when the new story update is released.

Drawing Stuff:

I drew every day. Sometimes it wasn't good, but I still did it!

Oh, yeah, I finished 13 Sentinels. I enjoyed it a lot, and I also learned a lot from it. And I decided to draw fanart of games I finished, as a sort of challenge to myself and as a gesture of "wow! I liked that game." That means I also need to draw fanart of Unicorn Overlord, which I finished before I finished 13 Sentinels. Now I'm playing GrimGrimoire, which is the last remaining Vanillaware game on the Switch. I'm hoping they'll port over some of their other games onto Switch 2 whenever it's out. I'm not so sure about the gameplay for GrimGrimoire yet, which is kind of like a side scrolling magical StarCraft, but I've been loving the gallery feature, which is beautiful, lovely, whimsical, delicious. Vanillaware games look so darn good, dangit.

I got the joycons I sent in for repair last week. The right joycon still drifts. Did they actually fix it...? It might be time to do the hall effect sticks mod...

Now that I've posted more art on my social medias in a week than I have in like, the entire year before, I've gotten comments about how I'm alive and how much people missed me and stuff, and I'm thinking like, I was always here! You should give me money to look at my weekly rambles where I don't post any art.

I also finished another big art for the Overtime update. I'm not posting that because it's a surprise.

And this is a doodle of Hana I didn't post online. Until now, that is, just for you. Anyway, I expect I'll have a lot more doodles to post here now that I'm drawing every day...
