Behind the scenes updates!

Hello!

This is Angela, I’ve been taking over the updating of entries on a weekly basis. I thought that I would start highlighting some of them as all users can see that the product number goes up every week (56,122 so far!) but don’t see the posts of new items or what has been updated / double checked… so here’s the inside scoop on some of this week’s highlights.

NEW TO BARNIVORE!

Manor Hill Brewing Beers (USA) (unless otherwise labelled)  What does that mean exactly? “From time to time, we do produce limited release beers that may use lactose (i.e. a Milk Stout), but that is once or twice a year and in small batches.  We put “contains lactose” on the label in these rare cases.”

LemonHart  (Canada) has 6 kinds of rums are vegan friendly!

Blue Chair Bay’s (USA) non-cream rums are all vegan friendly as mentioned on their FAQ page

COMPANY CONTACTING US!

Estrella Damm beers (Spain) followed up with us regarding being now vegan certified. "Our team have seen that in your website our beers Inedit and Malquerida appear as “NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY” and I’m writing you to see if we can change that. Some years ago these two brands (Malquerida and Inedit) seemed to had a non-vegan ingredient, but we have changed that. We are now “Vegan Friendly” and allowed to use the “VEGAN” trademark from the Vegan Society. "

The Uncommon (England) reached out to us asking to list their vegan-friendly wine and wine spritzers.

COMPANY’S SWITCHING TO VEGAN-PROCESSES!

Lord's Brewing (England) wrote an article about going vegan friendly! “As more people are increasingly concerned about what goes in their beer and if it's vegetarian or vegan we decided to make a change to our beers. They no longer contain traditional isinglass finings made from a fish swim bladder. Instead, we have opted to either not use it at all or we use a vegan-friendly finings.

Arran Brewery (Scotland) wrote an article about changing over from using isinglass to vegan finings for their bottled beers.

DOUBLE CHECK

Ford’s Gin (USA) – still vegan-friendly!

Solemn Oath Brewery (USA) – still vegan-friendly!

NEW VEGAN PRODUCT

Amarula (South Africa) is a cream liqueur  made with sugar, cream and the fruit of the African marula tree… and now they have a vegan version!
“Our new Plant Based indulgence, that can be enjoyed by vegans, those with lactose/dairy intolerance, or just those looking to savour the wonderful flavours of Marula fruit and coconut.”
