Some new sketches, lineart...

I've been obsessed with the girls of Hanebado recently. Here's the result!

In my early days when I started drawing I was really into Ishikei. Always loved his way of coloring so I tried to copy it. Though I could never even reach anywhere near his level. I tried various styles, moved from hard shaddows to soft shading. Currently I'm trying to get rid of the western look as much as I can. A good way of analizing other artists is to copy faces from other their work and paste it over your own. You can then easily show and hide the layer and spot the differences. Tracing over your favourite artwork is a good way too, you can figure out the proportions, shapes etc. This should be only done as a practise though. When it comes to b/w manga I have and I'm still studying Kiyoshiro Inoue's Book "The Job of a Service Comittee Member". It's clearly my favourite h-manga. Apart from that I also looked at Shindol's, Asanagi's and Shiwasu No Okina's work. However, it's very important to study from real pictures as well, to learn anatomy! I'd say, draw as much as you can. The more the better.

Hey man! (Or "man-ette?") Got a question for you. Your art is so good that I assume you learned to draw by studying other artists. Am I right? If so... who did you study? I'm sure you did thousands and thousands of drawings from other artists. I'd love to start looking at and copying other artists myself. I've been down the "intellectual" and "analytical" path to drawing for too long now, when it seems doing master copies is probably the best way to learn. Not sure if you have an answer for a lowly $2 patron, but thanks if you have time to list a few of your faves!
