Ask Me (Alex!) Anything!

Hey guys! It's me, Alex. Your favorite writing tiger! I am falling a bit behind on the monthly pinups, so there's no voting for this month.

So instead, I thought I would set up an AMA here where y'all can ask me (the tiger behind the screen) any questions that are on your mind or that you would like to know! These aren't questions for my OCs or fursona, but for me, Alex!

Ask away in the comments and I will reply to them as they come in!

I await your curiosities! 🥰

I enjoy writing oral sex scenes a lot! There's a lot of fun stuff you can do with that. Breathing, licking, scent stuff, etc. As for art scenes, tentacles are up there! It's fun to see.

AlextheCatte

What is it you enjoy writing most, and what art scenes do you enjoy doing most?

Sinopa

It’s a joke based on inveterate horse race gamblers ‘like the ponies’ a little too much since most such gamblers make too many bets on the races. In this case, you seem to ‘like the ponies’ in a very different (but better) way.

KaiserDunk

The hardest scenes to write for are usually the sex scenes! It's not hard to describe the action or anything but it's a bit difficult to keep it from sounding repetitive, you can only describe someone thrusting over and over, or someone riding something up and down up and down. That is the hardest part, I think! I try my best for mine to not sound repetitive, but it is sometimes hard to avoid. I'd have to go back and look at what I have written! Ahaha! I'd say I've roughly done about 60-70% of what I have written!

AlextheCatte

I am not sure what that means! But I do hope so!

AlextheCatte

I feel like I am always toeing the line in that case. I feel like that a lot! It feels like it has become a bigger responsibility than when I was doing it and not making money from it. But what I usually do is pick and choose the writing that interests me or the ones that I am most excited to do at the time. It helps when you keep it as something you are enjoying doing!

AlextheCatte

As an erotic story writer, what would you say are the hardest scenes to write for and why? P.S. how much of what you’ve written have you actually done?

Alec Waltman

Do the ponies like you as much as you like the ponies?

KaiserDunk

Do you have any advice for someone looking to start writing on Patreon? My biggest fear is that something I love doing would turn stressful and turn into a job I have to do rather than one I want to do.

Most of the UML stories are set in the same continuity and a lot of them do overlap and/or are continuations of other ones, but a lot of them don't fit in there due to being sci-fi, or set in the past, stuff like that. I do like to keep a general canon, the ones where it mentions Alex as a waitress, or as an established pop singer are usually the canon ones. It's a mess right now, but I am trying to keep it together and coherent. I might work on that a bit better some day! But for now I do enjoy the different AUs so things stay fresh and fun! And thank you! Tashi is great, there's more stuff with him to come! 🥰

AlextheCatte

Surprisingly, I don't read much erotic stuff other than when I proofread my own stuff or when friends send me their stuff to read! So I wouldn't be able to tell you on that front. But as for non-erotic, I read a lot of YA novels when I was a teen, a lot of those were in first-person; reading those made me decide not to write things from that perspective. It's clunky and I don't like it too much. But some of my favorite authors are Dmitry Glukhovsky who wrote the Metro series which is one of my favorite book series of all time. And Kristine Kathryn Rusch who wrote my favorite vampire novel "The Sins of the Blood". Their writing styles are fantastic and fun to read. I don't struggle with ADHD myself, but the methods I use to keep my writing on schedule consists of a few things. I dedicate a certain amount of time to writing each day, and I also dedicate a day or two where I do not write at all (unless I really want to). I try not to push myself when I really can't write and instead I do something to relax. I plan out what I will write, and make sure they are topics I really want to write, too! It helps to plan stuff out. The pressure of not wanting to disappoint the people who subscribe to the Patreon also helps a bunch too! I know no one will be disappointed, but I get irrational and overthink like that sometimes. I've always been a fan of those kinks! I have a paw fetish for sure, they look so cute and soft and I want to be all overt them and have someone all over mine. Bottomlessness just seemed like a cool idea, you see the topless trend everywhere and I thought bottomless was definitely the superior, plus, I like being without pants at home a lot, too! Now watersports was amore gradual thing, I was always fascinated about how guys peed and I developed a fetish for holding it for them while they peed. Then it went from there to being peed on, peeing on, drinking, and all that. The degradation part also has a thing to do with it too, a little! I started with SFW! Cute stories and all that slice-of-life stuff and shifted over time. People pay more attention to the NSFW stuff. I got here kind of as a joke! I started this page after seeing people do it and getting paid for getting art, so I thought I would try the same thing but with an added benefit of sharing my writing here, too! I was already doing the writing for fun and was enjoying it. It snowballed from there when people actually started supporting me. I realized that people liked it and it was a huge dopamine boost. When I hit $30 a month was when I was like "Oh... I can make money doing this seriously..." The growth was slow and it has kind of stalled a bit, which I am sad about, but I am happy with where I am! I have a really nice community here. c:

The biggest inspirations for my writing are the people around me! Their personality traits, the way they act, talk, stuff they do. It's a lot of fun to think about that sort of stuff! But the other stuff that inspires me are things that I've experienced myself, furry artwork, and listening to other people as they explain lore and worldbuilding for their characters. Brainstorming with someone also really helps keep stuff fresh! It's good to have someone to go back and forth on ideas with!

AlextheCatte

I noticed that you wrote a bunch of stories set in the UML continuity. And I noticed that some of your stories overlap. Is there a sense of overall canon you're working towards? Also, every bit with Tashi and your sona is adorable. He reminds me of my own boyfriend and I look forward to more such stories!

E.H.

I don't know how to explain that! I was born with my voice! So maybe it was pure luck. Although I usually not a lucky person haha. And I would love a mango smoothie. 😀

AlextheCatte

It would be very narcissistic of me to say yes! I will stick to a maybe on this one! 😏

AlextheCatte

Hmmmmmm lemme think... What writers (erotic or non-erotic) have the biggest influence on your writing? As a writer struggling with ADHD, what are your methods to keeping your writing on schedule and being able to publish a story every week? How did you become a fan of the kinks you often include in your NSFW stories (paws, bottomlessness, watersports, etc.)? And of course, how did you get here? Did you start with smutty stories or did you start with more SFW content and gradually shift over time? Was there ever an a-ha moment where you realized your writing was good enough to make money on Patreon like this? What's the history?

Patrigue

I started writing a long time ago! I used to journal a lot and write out my feelings whenever I was feeling sad or down or when I was super happy. It was nice to read back on the stuff afterward, it really helped me learn from my mistakes and gain perspective on things that bothered me or things that made me happy at the time. It was from there where it expanded out to writing fiction, I wrote about things I wanted to do that I haven't done before or places that I really wanted to visit. As I grew older, I wrote about more mature stuff, death, sex, drinking, stuff like that. A lot of what I write have elements that I take from what I have experienced. As for furry porn, I found out I was into furry stuff when I was really young, too, but the porn writing really came into fruition from roleplay that I used to do with people. It wasn't really for the sexual stuff, but it was just a lot of fun to learn about characters that people write. When I made my own furry characters, I started writing for them, and then got art of them, and it slowly became a thing I did regularly!

AlextheCatte

What do you find to be the biggest inspirations for your writing? What do you recommend for others interested in writing smut to keep it fresh like you do?

ScaledFox

why does IRL alex sound so adorable on the mic? also would she love a mango smoothie?

Lavos

Is irl Alex just as cute as fur Alex?

So, when did you start writing, and how did it move to writing Furry porn?
