I hope you enjoyed the ending of book 1 of Lifeweaver. I really wanted to kill Relian but decided to have him stick around a while longer. It'll help Luke improve and get stronger in the long term, I think.

2025-09-19 14:36:11 +0000 UTCI appreciate the need for a good antagonist, but the sheer amount of pain and loss generated at the end of Book 1 leaves the first novel on a downer. That may not be an issue for a web serial, but will this cause you issues when you release it in a collected book format? You have a high body count in the last dungeon, imply that most deaths could have been avoided in the first place if they have been more observant / paranoid, and then immediately go into a second body count scenerio at the government office. That's a dark streak to end on. Food for thought. It's your story, but I'm having a hard time picturing a happy reader of Book 1 by the end of things. Having to wait months for the release of Book 2 after that series of downers? I'd expect a significant drop off in your readers.
