Welcome to Parahumans Online.

We’re kicking things off with a major thread, and it’s a big one. When the topic for our first discussion was proposed, there were plenty of strong contenders. But in the end, one name stood out.

Let’s talk about the man?, the myth, the legend and the nightmare to some people, Yamamoto Genryūsai. Or, as some call him Old Man Genocide.

Before we dive in, let’s keep it civil. It’s our first day, and I’d rather not start handing out bans.

If you’ve got footage, intel, or firsthand accounts to share, drop them here. Let’s get into it.

Holy shit, I can’t believe you guys actually pulled this off.

When I first saw it mentioned on Footbook, I thought it was just a joke. But nope, here we are. This is going to be amazing.

►Mac's Dual Rocket Propelled Grenades

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

Right? I was so skeptical at first. But the fact that this thread is actually happening? Unreal. Can’t wait to see what people share.

►Miraclemic (Wiki Warrior)

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

Seriously, I’ve been waiting for a place like this forever. Finally, a spot where we can talk about everything openly. This is huge. I even managed to give myself a Tag. This is so sweet!

►Paranoid Tin Head

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

No way. Just… no way. I never thought we’d get anything close to actual footage or firsthand info that was not some government Psyops or Leftist propaganda. This is next-level.

►Coyote-C

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

I was glad at first, but I just realized this means we're going to gate keep this, before Paranoid Tin Head brings in his fellow r3tards from 6Chan and make this whole thread and site a mess.

►Tin_mother (Original Poster) (Moderator) (Not a tinker)

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

@Coyote-C Swapping a letter with a number doesn't suddenly change the meaning of the word. As this is launch day, and this is also your first offence, i would be letting you off with a warning only.

►Paranoid Schzio

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

Too late, @Coyote-C — the cavalry has arrived! Did you know space whales actually send down flakes of their skin to bless their mundane worshippers?

Totally true, I swear!

►Tin_mother (Original Poster) (Moderator) (Not a tinker)

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

@ParanoidSchizo While I find the topic fascinating, it’s not really relevant to this particular thread. Anymore attempt to derail shall lead with a ban.

►Bloodbag04 (At Ground Zero: Brockton Bay)

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

Okay, enough hype and derailing. I actually witnessed part of what happened to the Slaughterhouse Nine, and it was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. This is coming from a Brocknite, born and bred.

►CuriousCat

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

Please, spill the details! What did you see?

►Bloodbag04 (At Ground Zero: Brockton Bay)

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

The Nine rolled into town, and word is they offered their services to the highest bidder. Somehow, the Teeth won the bid and unleashed them on the PRT. Two heroes got ambushed and barely managed to escape, pursued by four, or was it five? of the Nine. They fled to the old man’s house and begged for his help. And he did.

That, folks, is why we no longer have a Slaughterhouse Nine.

►Aloha

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

I call Cap. Why the hell would PRT Heros lead the S9 to a random man's house?

►BrocktonBayresident

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

This isn’t something people talk about much, but on the very first day the old man strolled into Brockton Bay, he took out a veteran villain from the E88, just like that. Same day, he sent another E88 member running, along with two PRT heroes.

►BadSamurai

Replied On Jan 13th 2005:

You mean Yamamoto? Old Man Genocide himself? Holy shit. Is that why the E88 just upped and skipped town and moved to Boston for no reason?

After hearing all the live accounts on here, I still can’t believe the Slaughterhouse Nine got decimated like that. But honestly? That is not even the craziest thing he has done so far.

►Jules

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Are you talking about Lyon? Because I was there. And I still can’t wrap my head around it.

►Answer Key

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Wait, you were actually in Lyon when it happened? What was it like?

►bothad (FIrst responder)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

We have an actual Behemoth survivor here? This is so crazyyyyy.

►Jules

Replied On 13 2005:

It was like the end of the world. We got the alert that Behemoth was inbound. You know those obnoxious sirens they blare when an Endbringer attacks? They don’t seem so annoying when it’s your city under siege. People were scrambling to evacuate, and the heroes were fighting tooth and nail to buy us time.

I had my kid in one arm and was struggling to pull my wife and our baby along with the other when I just happened to look up. That was when I saw him. An old man in strange black-and-white robes, just standing there without a care in the world. Cane in hand and floating in midair.

►BadSamurai

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Just to clarify, it’s not a robe. It’s a uniform, I think. A white shitagi, a black kosode, black hakama, white tabi, and waraji. Over all of that was a white haori with a symbol on the back.

►FromParisWithLove

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Jules is right. The whole thing was insane. I know some of you have seen the footage, but a video doesn’t do justice to what actually happened. And it definitely didn’t capture the part where the Big Four were nearly wiped out by the old man.

Legend ran. Eidolon was a breath away from death. Alexandria was sent hurtling into the ground so fast, I swear she could feel the heat of the core.

For some reason, Hero was the only one who got off somewhat easy.

►LightLover (Cape Husband)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

I won't say Legend ran exactly, i hear it was a tactical retreat.

►Char

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Come on, guys. This whole story sounds way too far-fetched. Sure, the old man managed to take down Behemoth, but that was with the help of multiple capes. There was the one who pinned him down, the one who conjured that weird plasma sword that stabbed Behemoth and forced him out of the ground, and then the bizarre attack that finally killed him.

There is no way he could've done what you mentioned to the Big Four.

►BadSamurai

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

@Char The binding that pinned Behemoth. The plasma sword that forced him out of the ground. The fire. Even the weird attack that killed him.

Yeah, that was all Old Man Genocide.

►Char

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Oh...

►Answer Key

Replied On Jan 1st 2011:

See this is another thing about him that doesn't make sense. I thought he was just a mover blaster cape, where the hell did he get a gravity attack from??

►Miss Mercury (Protectorate Employee)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Gravity attack? I don't know about that, but we now have him listed simply as a TRUMP. No ratings attached. Just TRUMP. All capital letters. And trust me, after meeting him face to face, that Tag is not nearly enough.

►Answer Key

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

@MissMercury, I mean the gravity attack that finally killed Behemoth. The one that made the whole world groan. I swear, I could hear something twist, like the sky was cracking and the earth was crying. You remember that wave of fire that raised the temperature across Europe for a week and dropped sea levels by a few centimeters worldwide?

Yeah. That wasn’t even the attack that finished Behemoth off. It was some sort of weird Black coffin that had even weirder spike like protrusions coming out from the top.

You also met him in real life? How was he?

►Miss Mercury (Protectorate Employee)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

@Answer Key. If i was to describe him in a single world, it would be the very essence of Intimidating. I'm pretty certain he could kill with a glare, It's why he keeps his eyes closed half the time.

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

We're digressing a bit, but i would like to hear more about behemoth's death. Like the fact that behemoth screamed in pain and terror for one. I didn't know the endbringers could eve feel pain like that.

►L56H& (Unverified Cape)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

They don't. It was a weird power interaction. Yamamoto's power burns more than the body... That's all i would say without the risk of him coming for me.

►BadSamurai

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

@L56H& Oh, now you’ve done it. Just wait, the power scalers are about to crawl out of the woodwork with all their bizarre theories, trying to break down and quantify his powers.

►Paranoid Schzio

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

I said it! The old man doesn’t just attack the physical body. He’s a spiritual being who transcends the mundane. His attacks bypass flesh and strike straight at the soul, the very essence of a being. That’s the endgame for him. And everything has a soul. A metaphysical presence that’s the sum of its existence.Even those damn Terror Drones.

And they called me a madman!

►Jules

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

You're not beating the allegations but for once I'm not even inclined to agrue. That scream... I still wake up to it, soaked in sweat on some bad nights.

Why is no one talking about Beijing yet?

►BadSamurai

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

What's there to talk about, Beijing’s still smoldering. Half the city’s a crater. China is still panicking years later.

►Antigone

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Considering it was there he got the name Old man Genocide, i would've expected more on It.

►BadSamurai

Replied On Jan 1st 2011:

Despite the nickname our merciful lord and savior has been saddled with, rumor has it he didn’t actually kill that many people. Don’t get me wrong, he slaughtered a ton when he attacked the Yangban. But most of them were capes, soldiers, and law enforcement.

I heard that, just like in Lyon, he let a lot of people evacuate before he decided to glass the city.

►ArchmageEin

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Does anyone even know the real reason he attacked? And why didn’t China retaliate? Hell, they seemed almost relieved that he didn’t come back to finish the job.

I don’t trust the official sources, or the PRT, for that matter.

►Lo A Quest

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

It was the Yagaban, right? I heard they were kidnapping heroes.

►Brocktonite03 (Top 3% Contributor)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

It wasn’t just heroes. They kidnapped a kid. That’s why he went berserk.

Anyone familiar with Brockton Bay will tell you there’s one place you do not want to mess around, and that’s the Asian district. He stays in an orphanage there and there’s this kid, word is she’s his granddaughter or something. I can’t confirm it, but she’s got some kind of fire power too.

She got snatched by some Yangban operatives, and they hauled her back to China. I don’t know how the old man found out, but the moment he did, the entire city felt it.

There was this pressure. It was like every single person and thing in Brockton Bay just stopped. It felt like a sword was hanging over our heads, ready to drop at any second. My newborn baby girl is usually so fussy, cries at the slightest thing. But that day, she was dead silent. Stayed that way for days.

A few hours later, we started getting reports of what happened in China. The whole day was a nightmare, and I couldn’t shake one thought. That could have been us, if the idiot who kidnapped her had been from Brockton Bay.

►PowerScal3er (Wiki Warrior)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

Can someone confirm that? Being able to use a power city wide level is an insane scale.

►bothad (FIrst responder)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

You don’t get it. I saw the aftermath. Buildings reduced to molten slag. Roads cracked open like egg. It was like the whole city was hit by a meteor. The ground was still too hot to walk on days later.

►Bagrat (The Guy in the Know)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

I have a cousin in Beijing. He said they found bodies melted into the ground. Like they tried to crawl away but couldn’t.

►Coyote-C

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

That’s horrifying. But did anyone actually see him? Or are we just assuming it was the kindly old man that doesn't look like he could hurt a fly?

►Chaosfaith (Unverified Cape)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

I do. I was there. I saw everything. Recorded some of it too.

My sister was kidnapped by those bastards, and when I tracked her down, she’d been brainwashed. She didn’t even recognize me. So I stayed around, hung out in Beijing, trying to get solid proof of what they were doing.

Then I saw the old man. I told him what happened, and he just frowned.

The next few hours were a blur. He destroyed Beijing, wiped out the Yangban, and fought some kind of weird dragon. Beat the absolute hell out of it. Then he dragged a man away. I'm going to assume the dragon dude was a changer.

Here are the videos I took.

I say it was a good thing Beijing burned, the whole of China might as well have gone with it. Fuck the entire continent in fact.

►Tin_mother (Original Poster) (Moderator) (Not a tinker)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

@ChaosFaith, wishing death on people here is a no no, but i understand you're grieving in your own way. I heard all the Yangban operatives died shortly after. So this would be a warning instead of a straight ban. No cursing too.

Edit: Holy Shit.

►Bagrat (The Guy in the Know)

I heard it was bad, but this is on a different level... I don't think even Nasa has a video recording this clear. You were literally in the heart of the clash. Big respect to you @ChaosFaith.

Edit: Is it just me or does that dragon look familiar?

►Ake (Kyushu Survivor)

I recognize the dragon in the video. I could never forget those silver scales. It was the same dragon that fought Leviathan for hours in Kyushu while the rest of us evacuated. I thought he died after the fight.

►Paranoid Schzio

Replied On Jan 1st 2011:

He was rescued by our faceplated, indestructible, quantum locked lady and dropped inland. Then the Yangban kidnapped him, killed his mother, and tried to brainwash him too. But he resisted, like the proud dragon he is.

During the attack, he found his chance to escape, and he took it. Then he challenged a God, for what else would be able to fight him!!!

►PowerScal3er (Wiki Warrior)

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

This changes things... This changes things on a whole nother level. Could Scion even beat him? He was thrashing the dragon like it was a kid. Plus did you guys see that body. Those scars. That missing hand? Now who the fuck would've done that to Old man fucking Genocide?!!

►HotWebGurl

Replied On Jan 13 2005:

@PowerScal3er I don’t know, and I don’t want to know. But it suddenly makes sense. The old man is definitely not from Earth Bet.

I heard he called himself a Shinigami which is Japanese for Death God. After what we just witnessed, I’m not inclined to doubt it.

No one just shows up out of nowhere that old, that powerful, that scarred, and that experienced. If he was from Earth Bet, we would’ve heard about him long before now.
