About iOS subscriptions

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well.

I’ve noticed more and more people are subscribing through the Patreon app, so I think it’s important to mention this for anyone who might not be aware.

If you're thinking about subscribing (or renewing) to my Patreon via an iPhone or iPad, please consider doing it through your web browser instead of directly through the Patreon app on iOS.

Why?
Because Apple charges an additional 30% fee on all subscriptions made through the app — which means you end up paying 30% more for the exact same benefits.
By subscribing through the browser, you’ll pay less, and I’ll receive the same amount of support from you.

Also, you might be interested to know that Apple holds all creator payouts for 75 days. It’s not an issue for me personally, but when you add that to the steep 30% cut they take, I think it’s a pretty questionable practice — especially for smaller creators.

Anyway, thank you very much for your support and see you tomorrow for the release of "Rise & Wine : Part Two"! 😄

Comments

Apple is shit. So many unfriendly developer practices that it made me never want to release on their shitty store ever again.

I knew about their store "tax", but delaying payments 2 and a half months is crazy.
