Monthly Update: Pondering Ponderer Edition

Another month, another monthly update! The previous updates have mostly been about my eyesight issues, but after the operation that has been slowly getting better. There's still some dryness and occasional blurred vision, but nothing too serious anymore. As I also already mentioned, I have been slowly getting back to reading and even started working on any old pending issues I still had about Offcuts 0.4. If nothing too serious happens, I should hopefully be able to push Offcuts 0.4 out this year once I get a good opening in my schedule. Any continuation after that is still a bit open, it depends on how well my eyesight recovers. The situation is pretty good, but I still get some eye strain if I have to focus too much or too long, for example when reading and writing. And as my day job (and by extension livelihood) already requires a lot of screen staring, I have been pretty cautious with my hobbies for now to avoid any possibly permanent damage.

Still, it would be a shame to drop this hobby, especially after all this struggle. When I started to reread the old script, it reminded me of how fun it can be to create something like this. So, I'll try to keep going if I can, there have been plenty of ideas, plans and protos I have been working on at least on theoretical level during this long pause. Offcuts 0.4 is a guaranteed release at some point as it is mostly ready, anything after that is still a bit in the air. Hopefully, I can get fully get back to my hobbies (including writing) soon. I discussed this already a bit in the previous update post, but it's still difficult to plan any major roadmaps for now. With any luck, things keep improving even more. Just a few months ago, I was almost certain I would lose sight in one of my eyes completely, but now I might get very close to my old eyesight without any major permanent issues. Fingers crossed.
